Newbies to ASM

Are there any ASm newbies here who fancy getting together on IRC and having an interactive learning experience..

Or maybe just chat about asm programming, understanding and doing some source etc..

If we get 3-4 users we might help each other learn it that bit quicker.. and you never know one of the WHDLoad/ASM guys might pop in too

Reply here and we'll organise a date/time

I sure would like Bippym, but unfortunately i just can't see how I could find the sparetime these days to invest in understanding ASM. But please do keep trying, cause I find it interesting to read all about your effort (since i probably "will go down that path" in the future

). Maybe when the kids have grown up

I can't end up 6 feet under without never been able to learn asm.

I don't want to hi-jack the thread but since I think it's on the same purpose... maybe peoples with experience could post the list of the software and guides that worth it to start with 68k asm on the Miggy.

I want to give it a try too, but I started to search on Aminet for some asm dev pack and related tool and there is a LOT of them avaibles. So what you think it's a good assembler? A good debugger? Where a the guides to start learning with GOOD basis?

sounds great bippym. the hdf in the other thread would be extremely useful for a newbie to asm like myself, and could be used in winuae when i cant access the amis!

let me know what time u plan on doing the irc session(s). I can usually go online about 4 hours before this message post until now. That's a whole 4 fun hours of assembling!!!!!!

btw, i know many other languages but always wanted to learn 68k asm so i could do cool stuff on the ami.

Okay I have started a chan on irc.abime.net called #assembler.

I'll be idling on there most of the time so feel free to come along..

The first topic is the ASM HDF and how to get it setup properly..

We can have an official get together Tuesday 22:00 BST if anyone wants to come along

What timezone is BST? Please tell it in terms of GMT. Australia is GMT +10/+11 depending on daylight savings. I sent a msg on IRC, but got no response.

Well, the timezone I specified I meant Melbourne/Sydney, sorry to offend other aussies in the other cities.
