How do I use Cranker compressor tool?

When I'm trying to compress a file by using http://aminet.net/package/util/pack/cranker it says "file is not executable".

What I am doing wrong?

I use the parameters -f file -o newfile -cd

I tried the demo from here http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=67198

Perhaps the executable attribute is not set?

Using the option -a when extracting the lha archive should set the attribute. Alternatively change it in WB by selecting the file and go to Icons->Information and check off the Executable checkbox.

If you didn't use the -a option when you extracted the files, it will not be set to executable.

I have already used it without problem, just follow the readme.

Example:

cranker -f hdtoolbox -o hdlittle -nf

It will take hdtoolbox file and compress it to the file hdlittle. The -nf option is so that you dont see the default screen flashing when you run the crunched file and it is decompressing on the fly (hdlittle is that file in this example).

Just tried it. Output file wasnt executable, but removing all the file-flags in filemanager, then setting them to RWED did the trick.
And do not use -cd option that is for data-crunching.

Basically:

cranker -f path/file -o path/file e.g. cranker -f dh1:file -o dh1:file-crunched

This should compress the file! if you use -nf at the end it will stop the screen flashing when decrunching: cranker -f dh1:file -o dh1:file-crunched -nf
