Big grin Dungeon Master

There's an easter egg on Dungeon Master level 1. If you go to the entrance to the dungeon (after you've picked some characters) use one of the wizards to cast a spell. I can't remember it right now. If you face the Dungeon entrance and cast the spell you get to see an image of Lord Order who is the good half of Lord Chaos (the end baddie). They are both one being who had been split in 2 by a powerfull spell.

Whatever happened to the Easter Eggs (i.e. secret codes) that were supposed to be in Populous II.

There was a secret code MUSIC, in which some crappy music played in the background.

In the manual, Bullfrog said they would be releasing more codes in future releases... but never did.

Anyone have codes?

On the C64 IK+ I think required you to press three keys at the same time like T + H + E ,and so on ,3 letter words...

If you reset ubiks music on the C64 you could play space invaders! , There are tons more but It hasnt come to me yet...
I wonder if there are similar things on the Amiga.?

Yup

Lotus 2 : Type DUX (I think as your password) - Gives a duck shoot game (like on the C64)
Lotus 3 : Type CU AMIGA - Gives that grid runner game

I heard that in Lotus 1, you can type MONSTER as player one's name and SEVENTEEN as player 2's name, but I never got anything when I tried this years ago. Maybe y'all can figure this out

Question

I do recall that the original Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge had a hidden shoot-em-up game as well. I think it involved blowing up asteroids or something.
Was it something like player 1 name had to be "Monster", & player two "Seventeen"??

In an old Amiga magazine, it says that on Lotus 1, if you type...

Fields of Fire or Seventeen or Monster

you would get a hidden game. Unfortunately, I tried all these ages ago, and got nowhere.

I think a friend once said you can only access the hidden game through the above passwords in two player mode. Try it.

Lotus subgame doesn't work

I've tried 3 different versions of the original and NONE of them have that hidden asteroids game. I can only guess it's an Atari ST cheat or something. I'd be keen to know if somebody else can do it.

As for hidden stuff, the only thing I can remember offhand is in Hudson Hawk (btw, great game imho!) if you leave your dude standing still for ages eventually a piano falls out of the sky and drops on you - even if you move left/right by then the piano moves with you and kills you.

Arrow About that hidden Gridrunner game..

Akira,
The hidden Gridrunner-game in Lotus III Amigaboy is referring to is Shaun Southern's Proof Of Destruction (P.O.D.). This is one of my favourite shmups for the C64 I mentioned in the "Favourite Shoot-'em-up"-thread a couple of weeks ago.

Cool Hudson Hawk & Shaun Southern

More and more I get the feeling there is a Hudson Hawk- conspiracy here!
I have never seen the piano-falling-from-the-sky sequence in this game but then again Hudson Hawk- really got on my nerves when it stayed for a couple of minutes on my screen.

As for those Lotus games, it seems Shaun Southern converted many of his original C64 games to Amiga. P.O.D and Duckshoot are the most popular. I just wished Kikstart was hidden in an Amiga game. Kikstart is one of Shaun’s most popular C64 titles: it features a stuntman on a motor who must dodge obstacles in a horizontal scrolling path.

Question What type of release is it?

This is the last question before my weekend starts: Cody, is Kikstart 2 a full-price or PD release and is it really programmed by Shaun Southern?

It was a commercial release developed by Icon Design and probably published by Mastertronic. I'm not sure about Shaun Southern.

And compared to the C64 version it's garbage if you look away from the graphics.
