Your Favourite Joystick

Mine was the Cheetah Bug in the day.

But since the Cyclone RX adaptor for the PS1 controller I prefer that.

What's yours?

Wico Boss or Wico Command Control. Only two joysticks worth using in my opinion.

There are so many of these threads already

... Poll: Fave Joystick?
... The best joystick ever; the list to end all debate

I should probably merge this new thread with one of the above, just need to decide which

My own favourite was the Sigma Ray from Logic3. But, the shaft was top heavy and it eventually started leaning forward.
Otherwise, it was amazing.

It had auto fire, 5 buttons, good for left or right handers (The Wico's biggest problem imo)

I also have a zip-stick. Never liked it, and still sort of don't. I never use it.
The competition pro 5000 I have is meh too. Never liked it either, but the zip stick was better.

The Quickshot Apache was my other go to. Great stick, until the "switches" wore out. Same with the Atari CX-40.

Or the Powerplay cruiser. My friend had the pastel one, I have the black one. I still use it to this day.

My eventual king of joysticks is my modified Neo Geo stick, with a Sanwa JLF and sanwa buttons.

Looks something like this: But I have a bat top (I got used to it from the Wico) and an octagonal restrictor on the JLF.

Absolutely hate joysticks, always have. But my favourite controller on the Amiga was the Cheetah Bollistick but these days that has been surpassed by the KTRL CD32 pad for most things.

After you use a Sanwa stick it's really hard to go back. Those things are *SO* good.

Good old Zipstick with the yellow buttons, used to tape it to a large tile for stability , was great, wanted to get another for some A500 games on my cd32, but the prices they go for now is silly.

I had lots of Tac-2 for most of the Amiga years. Then read about Cheetah The Bug which got rave review in the leading Swedish Amiga magazine at the time, and I got one. But I always came back to the Tac-2 even onwards, alternated between them.

To me it was really The Arcade - and of course the Competition Pro series... however, The Arcade was always my joystick of choice

The good old competition pro. Very durable in fact I'm still using the same one I had from back in 1991/1992 and its had some hammer over the years.

Same for me. I preferred them before the micro switches got too clicky. The joystick didn't move so smooth after they changed them

WOW now THAT design rings some bells. Especially the placement of the base buttons.

Did that ever come in red? Possible I'm mixing it with a QS II Turbo in my head.

For me, after breaking MANY a microswitch spring on QS and QJ sticks, I swapped from favoring "flight stick" to going ZipStick....and GOD that thing was buttle proof!

A preference of style? No.

But I'd hail it as the BEST joystick I ever owned, as, reguardless of how nice a joystick looks or feels...it's useless if it doesn't work.

ZIP STICK WINS

Competition Pro or Zip Stick. Joysticks of champions!

Great to read all the other favourites here.

If you take a Wico base (any will work) and a Quickshot (the one that looks like a cobra with the top switches and the trigger) you can merge the two. The metal shaft of the Wico is almost exactly the same as the plastic shaft that the Quickshot uses. If you take the Quickshot handle into its two halves and drill one hole in the Wico shaft you can have the best of both worlds. With the switch that the Quickshot gives you then the stick can have a rapid-fire circuit too. Best of both worlds.
