not done that yet but I will after work.
but some more news, I tried putting the diskdrive from my old 1200 into this new 1200 and tada!! it works! the drive in the new 1200 was this mitsumi thing. I always thought ALL amigas had the same disk drive. and just in cause you're wondering, it hasn't been changed by anyone else cause I had to break through the guarantee sticker to get 1 of the screws out. So that's 1 troubleshoot shot, the fault of my old 1200 was NOT the disk drive. I got too options now, either plug my HD into this new 1200, or try and figure out what is wrong with the old 1200. My question is, if the first, can i just plug the HD and it will run like my old one? |

I would have thought so , I've done it.
I believe very late A1200s had some different components , don't know if this would cause a problem ? |

Yes, just plug it in. If you had a turbo card or other expansions, move those over as well.

thanks guys
OK, moved it over ok, loads it up ok. first problem was just the keyboard not working but that was just the cable not in properly. I had a couple, well quite a few actually problems with the HD freezing, particually when I went into things like system/prefs. and the only way to get out of the freeze was to reboot however just now I took out my trapdoor memory, (picture of it below, cause I have no idea what model it is or anything) and it stopped freezing 3 and more times! so looks like MAYBE this trapdoor memory is causing all the fuss and bother? is that common? |

"that thing" is a Power Computing PC1204 expansion with 4MB, extra FPU and RTC, just turn the card over, "Power Computing" should be printed there.

thanks.
OK, even when out, my old amiga still doesn't fire up, just the Indivision AGA screen. I've re-seated all the chips, tried 3 floppy drives, 2 of which I know work for deffo, also tried it with the HD out so it's not that. or the expansion board. Anyone have any A1200 schematics? |

anyone? I dont even mind if I have to pay for schematics, I just want to be shown. I've tried searching with google and no luck, I guess there aren't any officially. Like a service manual.
