Some various minor work and also did the return key, however after I rendered this I saw I screwed it up a bit.

Taking another look at the actual shots of the A500 I think the reason the gap at the front looks too big is simply because it's massively rounded on a real A500, which I presume will be modelled better somewhere down the line.

Good work.

I think I got the colors pretty realistic now. I guess the keys are ok now, so I should move on to rounding off and finish the main body.

Looking good... one thing though are the keys too tall? The front risers look tall to me...

Hmm... Maybe the first row, after the space bar, are a little high... but when I look at this photo I now see that the keys should be even more bent...

The return key is the wrong shape for the original A500. The original was a reversed L shape, longer bit at the bottom. The A4000 keyboard I have is the same style as your render (as are most PC keyboards). The picture posted just above this highlights this point as well. Otherwise, it is coming along really nicely.

That picture is huge... any chance you could make it smaller?

Steve, I thought about that return key as there are a lot of pictures of A500's with both those returns. Seems like the "localized", for example swedish and german has the return key I made. But I think I'll change to the standard one.

Graham, I linked to that pic directly from Wikpedia so I dont whink so..

However, I rounded of the keys some more, lowered them and also tried out some texturing. (and the other difference between the keyboard layouts can be seen here aswell )

Looking good bLAZER. If only my original keycaps had not succumbed to fading on certain letters (having said that though, my 7 month old PC k/b has seriously faded letters on ASWECV and LALT/LCTRL).

So... I decided to do some more work on this project...

Tried out displacements to do the logo, and it looks good.

Very cool. I'm wondering what 5h00n4y was wondering. Does your image have the correct number of slits at the rear? I'm not saying it looks wrong. I'm just curious how accurate it is.

Very nice modelling job! I wish I had the patience to do that myself. Texturing and lighting requires less patience of me and I guess I'm the shiny-primitives-on-a-table kind of guy when it comes to 3D rendering and modeling.

gklinger: I counted them, so they should be correct.

Thanks, Leffmann!
