Cf hdd = scsi2sd ?

Hi Folks

For a few months now i've slowly made a CF card that closely matches my Real Amiga 4000 and a WinUAE setup so the card is pretty much interchangeable between emulator and real Amiga.

I wanted to do the same with my Amiga 500 with an A590, though i don't want to use a small, loud and clunky 20mb harddrive and thought about using the scsi2sd interface in the A590.

I wanted to check a few things.

Can the Amiga 500 use the PFS like the A4000 can? Its a dual 1.3/2.04 but rather setup under 1.3 conditions. If not, will i have to deal with limitations on size, i use an 8gb CF on the 4000, likely only use 4gb for the A500.

The scsi2sd is really expensive compared to the CF setup, is there a cheaper option, or is that the choice we got, not a biggy, just rather not find out later there was another option i missed.

Are there any pitfalls to be aware of using the scsi2sd interface ...

Are there other OS considerations, doesn't seem many people are using these and while there is "some" discussions, its very quiet, maybe the price point has make people not bother?

The SCSI2SD is the cheapest alternative you got. No real pitfalls either. You can split the card into several logical units if your card is too big for your setup.
