CDTV IR remote

Hello folks!

I was sitting (on my fat ass) and played Rainbow Islands on my CDTV today. I wanted to do a level skip, but the KB was out of reach..
So my my idea is, is it possible to read out some of the keys from the IR remote ?
I mean, can they be read like "normal" keys on the keyboard ?
And if so, anyone know the hex values ?

Is this so you can patch them in using a WHDload slave or something??

I can get you the IR codes... dunno what the Amiga hardware does with them though.

A bit more simpel, just to be used on floppy disk based games.
But as you allread guessed, I hoped it was to be read from some reg., like the kb.

On the CDTV, the generation of keyboard codes for keys that are pressed on the remote is handled entirely in hardware, and is not user adjustable. Pressing "0" on the remote is indistinguishable from pressing "0" on the keyboard, from the program's point of view. Even if the program is hitting the hardware directly.

If that is true, then WHDLoad slave writers can patch slaves for CDTV remotes. Pursuading them to do so is going to be the hard bit

Enter and Escape keys should be an easy test as they are used in some games.
