Amiga 500 - Cdroms with long filenames

You all here have been so helpful and Since I figured out how to do it, I might as well let others know.

My Machine: Amiga 500 10meg - Bodega Bay - GVP A2000 Series II
-Picture attached

Use a PC to burn a Amiga cdrom, that allows the Amiga to see the Long Filenames !!!!!!
We all know that you can burn a cdrom for the Amiga 500, but the Amiga will only show
the short filenames. this method works for me

0. Get the files
Download mkisofs and cygwin1.dll (need them both) - Attached

1.Create an ISO CD image
goto windows dosmode: click on start button / run / cmd (rest is up to you)
If you have the directory tree you wish to burn at /amiga/newdisk, you would use a command like
mkisofs -o amiga.iso -J -R -V Scotts_Disk /amiga/newdisk
This creates a disk image named "amiga.iso" which supports both Joliet (-J) and Rock Ridge (-R)
and has a volume label of "Scott_Disk".

2. Burn the amiga.iso
This can be done using any program that can burn a raw ISO CD image, and I believe they all can.
I used Nero with the command "File / Open / Browse to the new amiga.iso Image...".
Make sure that you burn "Disk At Once" (not "Track At Once") and "Finalize" the disk.

3. put cdrom in your Amiga and go

You can simply activate ISO Level 2 in Nero and get long file names, too.

OK.. I figured it out.. but SPACES within filenames & directorys are
replaced by "_" which can mess up when running some programs. The way I did it, has the SPACES correct.

But you showed me something.. thanks.
