Long shot: PP&S 3000/040 ROM/CPLD/FPGA file...?
I took a punt on a PP&S 3000/040 for my 3000, and unsurprisingly it doesn't work.
What's odd is it does work somewhat, and DiagROM will boot, and pass memory tests with CHIP RAM. Fast RAM, however, is never detected. With normal KS chips, the power LED goes from dim to bright then hangs. The processor is running but I guess it's getting stuck recognising RAM. I've tried changing my SC RAM to page by inserting a page DRAM in the first socket, no change. The glue chip on the 3000/040 appears to be an FPGA with a UV window, which I thought was odd, and there was no sticker covering it. I'm suspecting it's lost its programming. It's a pluslogic FPGA2020, so even if I find the files I suspect programming might be difficult. But don't ask, don't get. Anyone got any ideas on this one, please? Super BUSTER 6, DMAC-02 and RAMSEY-04 for what it's worth. Or have I acquired a pretty ornament and that's all it'll be... |

Afaik, it would only loose it's programming if exposed to UV light & who knows the history of the card?
Might be worth framing behind glass if no one can help with a re-write. |

Sunlight will wipe an EPROM in a certain number of days... I simply don't know if the FPGA is doing what it should, but I do know the card isn't working and that seems to be down to the glue as the CPU does start, run code, and access chip memory which was surprising!
Yeah, putting it on the wall might be the only option but I am hoping someone might have something and a way to compare against it... |
