Missing library error
Hi there, i try to install AIAB r10.6 within Win-UAE, but no chance:
I tried Latest Win-UAE version and down to 1.1. No matter what, i get this error when installing AIAB: "asl.library Need reqtools.library ..." The funny thing is, i tried to install AIAB on a Mac osx emulator "E-UAE" and got the same error... but i get the install done with "MaxUAE" - a very ooooold emulator. But the only one, who gets it running - so far. In the AIAB bundle ist a Win-UAE config file, for version 1.4.4. - so i installed 1.4.4 and get still the same results Question: What is missing and where? Is it on the Win-UAE side or something with AIAB? solved! I just had to run Win-UAE in Admin-mode Last edited by elowan; 09 January 2013 at 20:31. |

You have some file permission weirdness on Windows side if you need to run winuae in admin mode.

hmmm, i´ll check for that. But i remember something similar on my AIAB mac install.
Some permissions have to be changed for the installation to work correct. Maybe it´s just because all Win-UAE and AIAB files are in C:\Programms(x86) and when manipulating files there, you have to confirm all actions. Last edited by elowan; 10 January 2013 at 08:14. |

Check if you can open libs/reqtools.library using any text editor (outside of WinUAE). Also make sure it isn't installed in Program Files because it is normally read-only under Vista and later.

I can open reqtools.lib and the user-rights are just normal. It is not write protected.
I installed AIAB just like the guide... but the guide is for Win XP or older maybe. So, next time, i try to install AIAB, i put it somewhere else, just not in Programm-directory. |

Copy whole directory outside of program files and try again to test it.

I installed ClassicWB v27 instead of AIAB, using a new Version of Win-UAE.
Put the "amiga files" in my personal folder and it works flawless Just for curiosity i tried the same with AIAB, using Win-UAE (1.4.4 and 2.x) - but now it seems, when inserting an workbench.adf file in df0, the installation is not aware, that the desired disk has been inserted.. no matter how many times i click on "Retry".... man, this is total strange, got no clues Let´s blame AIAB install-script, maybe just way too old |
