Surely someone will step in and buy them.
They gotta be cheap as chips and have a great back catalogue of games and characters. Unless they intend to pheonix minus debts? |

The collaboration with Brash Entertainment forced them to close their doors, as it seems. But i'm also pretty sure that somebody will buy them.

Quite sad, because they managed to stay in business for so many years. I'm sure someone will buy what's left of them...

Titles probably no because most of them are owned by LucasArts. The oldest ones (Turrican, Denaris) are not much worth for modern gaming.

No such thing. Even if they have gone into administration the banks will want to recover some of the money owed by selling off anything of value including copyrights, trademarks, source code etc.
Turrican could still be a good brand for a 3D FPS. If Sony wanted to take on the Halo / Metroid franchises |

We are talking like 2000 or something when the 3D technology was ok, but not great. I have to say that the videos did look a little poor even for then.
http://www.nemmelheim.de/turrican/other/turrican3d/ Today with a large budget and next gen hardware... oooo I'm getting a semi just thinking about it |

As much as i love the Turrican's on Amiga and the fabulous F5 Alex, it couldn't realistically go up against Halo or Metroid, it was never really that strong a franchise to be fair
In any case it's best left where it will always remain as one of Amiga's best At a guess though i would say F5 will always be remembered for T2 and their enjoyable Star Wars games. That and their ability to push harder than any other dev it seems on a machine's capabilities Hopefully they will continue in some form though as it would be very sad not to have F5 as part of the industry |

I'll be having a drink for F5 and hoping someone will step in and save them. Once again, it'll be another great loss to the Amiga and general gaming community.
It's a sad day |

I like Factor 5 but the recent games of Factor 5 were very bad : Lair is ugly and unplayable on PS3
Maybe, a remake of Turrican oldschool would be good for Xbox Live or Playstation Store |

Have you ever seen Lair on the PS3 in person? It's not ugly. Look at the reviews, scores of 8-9 on visuals.
"Lair is a beautiful disaster.", "As a cinematic experience, it's stunning to watch" It is a crap game but it does not fail on visuals. Last edited by alexh; 24 December 2008 at 12:37. |

It's perhaps a mess is maybe what he's saying and maybe not as well realised as it could have been - perhaps time constraints can't have helped
Stunning graphics though just looking at the sheer geometry being flung around - F5 though i guess Iv'e only ever seen it being played but i can't believe it's entirely devoid of gameplay like most reviews suggested |

Lair is way better than the average reviewer out there made you believe.
It's just you have to master it. About Turrican: more than an FPS, I think a Gear/God of War TPS with a little stress on the "platform" factor instead of "shooter" one could be a nice thing. IMHO! ;D Back on topic: yeah, let's hope somebody will buy'em. They would be a perfect 1st/2nd party devteam for Sony! |

SONY?! They should continue with their close relationship with Nintendo, but even closer.
Turrican would do rather nicely on the Wii and especially DS. Anybody know what's currently going on with F5? Just before the crash, they mentioned that they were looking to take up support for the Wii, because of the platform actually becoming a hit. The website is still up, so something must be, well, up. |

Factor 5 closing down (maker of R-type, Turrican)
According to Eurogamer Factor 5 is closing its doors.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/la...-5-closes-down As you know Factor 5 created R-type, Turrican series and Katakis back in the day. I honestly didnt know they were still in business. |
