Question What happend to?

What happend to these guys:

Dex N Jonesy!

they did remixes and broke into the charts with their stuff! they apparantly used a couple of amiga's and protracker just like another couple of blokes called Urban shakedown did with octamed and 2 x a500's!

Also! one of the later amiga formats did a special on music production using amiga's and one of the writers put his money where his mouth was and had some vynil records of his music pressed up! anyone ever get to hear what he did?

I think Urban Shakedown changed their name to Union Jack and recorded for Platipus Records.

As for the later, I am sure you are talking about Tony Horgan, ex Editor in Chief of CU Amiga Magazine. I met with Tony once (in WOA 99) and discussed many issues. I bought both the Vinyl and the CD version of his music and yes, they were amazing. He put a lot of effort in that...

Hey GUYS!!!

This is Jonesey from Dex and Jonesey! One of my co-producers alerted this to meet this morning, how cool!! Thanks for your brilliant compliments. I am still producing and am also running an artist management company, a lablel and my composition, producing career. The latest mixes can be found on my myspace and there is a lot more to come this year including Usher's new single. Should be up this week.

I am one step away from a major senior executive for a major record compnay which is mega exciting. Me and dex are still really close however he has given up on music just for now concerntrating on his own IT career. He was always so brilliant at computers!!!

Take care all and big up to the HOUSE beats!!!

Talking of groups using an amiga. Some years ago there was a electro music playing 2 piece band. By the name of green - egg or egg - green. On holiday years ago, i saw this 2 piece band in a portsmouth pub. The name i think was Joiners or something similar.

Does someone know more of this 2 piece band, which were male and female. He played an amiga 500, she danced and possibly played other instruments, to long ago to remember now correctly. But the music was definatley to me of chart quality. They were friendly people to talk i remember, knowledgeable of his amiga 500 and its music ability.

Anyone know this 2 piece group name, or better, the name of band and their albums were. Maybe even Jonesey may know of this band, with knowledge of independant music groups. Would love to get their album again and any others they may have done. The album of theirs i bought on that night has long since evaporated.

If off topic, it was not intended to be.

Jonesey for dedicated music, there's no better than buying real amiga's. For all amiga things, there are uae emulation ports for most os's.

That's only Claudio Giussani's half of the story, Gavin King (better known to breakbeat fans as Aphrodite) and Michael Hearne (credited on Some Justice as Micky Finn) went on to start Urban Takeover a record label that still exists to this day. Although there is no evidence that they continued to use the Amiga for production it is very likely they maintained links to the Amiga music scene as many early tunes by Muffler/TRSI were released on Urban Takeover.

I know this is a really old thread now, but i can't help but wonder if Jonesy/Dex will ever upload there mod. files to AMP or Pouet for all us old amigans to enjoy once again ! (that would be awesome, especially as i used to actually own nearly all there tracks on 12" (in the late 90's and early 2K's)... my fingers are firmly crossed !
