Not Amiga vs Windows, Amiga and Windows
I don't want an old 286 or 386 on my desk, it's cluttered enough already and i cant be arsed to mess about with an old pc, but I do want access to 80s and early 90s dos games and I think it's brilliant that a board like the goldengate interfaces with the amiga so seamlessly with no need for a second monitor, mouse or keyboard. but if you dso want to make use of those redundant ISA slots then add a vga graphics card and a sound card and away you go! And being able to mess about with Windows 3.11 and Windows 95 is icing on the cake. Why have a pc bridgeboard? Because it's fun. Last edited by trixster; 27 February 2018 at 19:23. |

This card looks to be quite good and I noticed that GVP got in on the action too. Compatibility issues with the earlier Rev 500's is no surprise at all.
This would of been better if it was a DX-25MHz 386, still nice piece of retro hardware. < Shame digging for Gold in the ocean during the winter would be easier, than finding one of these! |

Make a Wanted thread on Amibay and Amiga.org, you never know! Someone might have one gathering dust and you won't know unless you ask. That looks like an interesting board.

Interesting!
Incidentally, I am unsure any Commodore 64 is even remotely powerful enough to run any WINDOWS OS. There seems to be a lot of emulation about these days. I believe that hardware emulation is far better than software. Anyone else agree with me on this? |

Hmm, Interesting to see many of you against this Amiga vs Windows Thread. I am wondering if there is some allegiance to the Amiga going on here? Or just non broad thinking individuals? Still at least some of you such as trixster can see the sense behind all this. |

Why is it that people who don't share your opinion aren't "broad thinking"? I sense a lot of irony in that sentence...
There is of course merit in it as a curiosity, much like a lot of older technology. The difference is trying to sell it as a practical solution in this day and age, which it most certainly is not. |

Well then why insult those of differing opinions by calling them narrow minded?

I didn't, I suggested it. There is a difference. Still I shall explain myself to you Daedalus as I know you are a very intelligent Amiga user.
Firstly, I set-up this thread not just for me but for other members who are interested in an Amiga set-up with Windows driven hardware. Second, I do not think it fair that they are NOT supporting this thread correctly. < It is as good as going off topic. Finally, I would be very surprised, if you of all people, didn't agree with me on this. |
