Trying to make a 500 gig partition through usbscsi.device

I am having trouble creating 1 large partition on a 500 gig SATA drive that is connected through a subway. The drive is recognized through HDToolBox. I can create a 465 (the true number for the new 500 gig) partition. I installed smart file system and the save the info to the drive. After re booting a non dos icon does appear on the workbench, but when I try to format it, it comes up with a disk full error. Is there a limit with usbscsi.device that is can't do more than a 120 gig partition? Do I need to change the block size for the partition?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in adavance.

copypaste from wiki....
The Smart File System (SFS) is a journaling filesystem used on Amiga computers. It is designed for performance, scalability and integrity. It uses block sizes ranging from 512 (29) to 32768 (215) bytes with a maximum partition size of 128 GB.
