kick40068 problems
Hi All,
I'm having a few problems with WHDLoad (registered) on WinUAE, particularly with AGA games. Using the example of UFO: Enemy Unknown - it complains every time that theres an "invalid kickstart image". I've tried the kick rom from my (i) legal copy of Amiga Forever, (ii) ripped from my old a1200 and (iii) downloads from internet, but nothing's working. Any ideas? Thanks, Aljrob PS - not all AGA games are having this problem, but all the ones that do seem to have this error message. |

Ok, so I now get as far as UFO loading under WinUAE / WHDLoad (Cheers for instructions Anubis), but have encountered a new error - namely a popup window that appears saying
title bar: geoscape or tactical, cycling after clicking ok Message: "No suitable display mode available" Any ideas folks? Thanks, Aljrob |

What was the cure for this? I have some AGA games that say the A1200 or A4000 "invalid kickstart image"
Dont remember having this problem before I had to format. Its a fresh XP and Amiga setup from a few days back. So on the Amiga side Winuae, Amigasys with OS3.9 and all the rest of it is all upto date. Many Thanks |

I have the same problem as this. I'm using Amiga Forever 2008 roms, and WHDLoad 16.9, Workbench 3.1, WinUAE 1.5.3 with 40068.a1200 roms (AF2008). And files from Skick346.
I've also tried with "real roms" from my machines, and with roms from other less reputable sources like one mentioned above... What is a fire proof receipe? |

I figured out a way to get it to work using a kick tool on aminet called GrabKick and my legal amiga forever 2008 roms. Seems to me that whdload has a bug when trying to use rom.key. Or that there is a mistake in the manual that the roms perhaps shouldn't be renamed?
any way, it's working now. thank god! |

It seems the rom.key is not contained on the value edition of Amige Forever 2008: http://amikit.amiga.sk/forum/index.p...um=1&topic=577
