Wink Amiga Amp and 3.1.4.1

Hi everyone

I have an issue which i cant seem to be able to find the solution, so i decided to ask here. I have an A1200 with an ACA1233n 68030 at 42MHZ and 128 MB Ram. My system runs OS 3.1.4.1 with Best WB and many addons, wired internet with roadshow etc. I wanted to try various music players in order to play some music (not mods) but modern music in wav or aiff format. I know that Hippo plays fine as well as play16 and Daplayer. All working good. Then i tried Amiga Amp and this is where i got stuck because no version plays for me. From the latest one to all the way back to 2.20 or 2.19 dont even open. The latest one report the error "Program failed to open. Error 8000000B and gives me two options to ignore or reboot. That is every single time. I chose the 68k/3.9 version, unpacked it in amiga and whatever i click in the app it gives me that error (the prefs icon as well).

I decided then to start going backwards and started trying older versions and then some of them just open for a milisecond a rectangular window which then dissapears and nothing happens or the new message i got was texteditor.gadget missing from libs or something like that. I looked and couldnt find that gadget online and also my libs dont have a gadget folder. So i gave up.

I am asking you guys then, am i doing something wrong or Amiga Amp doesnt run on 3.1.4.1 systems?

Thanks a lot in advance anyways just for listening to all this. If anyone knows something, please enlighten me and get me out of this missery.

Thanks a lot

Nikos

AmigaAMP v3.x works well on OS 3.1.4 "Error 8000000B " That's because you don't have the FPU (only new versions v3.x).

News AmigaAMP 68k v3.x seems not to support formats other than MP3 (old version AmigaAMP v2.x yes support MP3, WAV anf AIFF)

On OS 3.1.4 Amplifer and TKPlayer work well with MP3, WAV anf AIFF

Thanks for the 2 replies. I did assume the 8000000B error has to do with the FPU but since i wasnt sure i thought i should ask. What about the older version 2.19 for example and the texteditor.gadget missing from my Libs. The snopdog says the same about the missing gadget lib.

Thanks again

About AmigaAMP 2.x read the requirements on AmigaAMP.doc, then always from the AmigaAMP website download "Engines".
