Wtb: Mc68060rc50 (e41j)

I'm looking for a Motorola MC68060RC50 with the E41J mask (and only that particular CPU/mask combo). If you've got one for sale, or know of one for sale, please let me know.

Cheers.

Would that be one with the mask you're looking for Golan : http://cgi.ebay.com/Motorola--MC-680...09154004r28641 ?

You buy from China you risk the chance of a fake chip. Go with someone you know and is recommended.

I bought a MC68060RC60 71E41J from the China-based seller in TCD's link above, and had no problems at all. Delivery was quick too. Price was $72 at the time. Running various tools confirmed it wasn't a fake. It runs at 80Mhz no probs.

Steve.

Thanks. I should have specified that I don't need pointers to eBay auctions. Helpful links to Google searches for "Motorola MC68060RC50 E41J" are also not required.

The reason I'm shying away from that CPU on eBay is that I'm a little worried about getting a counterfeit and buying from China never fills me confidence. I've attached the photo from that specific auction and you'll note that the mask number appears to be printed on in white rather than etched like the part # and that concerns me as does the lack of any numbers in the lower left. Could be legit but smells fishy.

I would prefer to deal with an individual within the community.

If it turns out to be fake, there's a greater likelihood that I'll be able to do a return/refund from someone in the community who unknowingly sold a counterfeit than there is from a dodgy Chinese crap merchant. That's the theory, anyway. Wish me luck.

Guess you should try your luck on Amiga.org and a1k.org too then. Chances are that someone has a spare verified one lying around that he's willing to sell.

With people on this board and A.org vouching for the chinese chip sellers, together with full PayPal buyer protection, I think the risk is minimal.

I dont think you should be concerned by painted mask details.

This link shows my 060 E41J chip which was provided and fitted by PG over on a.org.

You can see that it has an etched chip name and painted mask details

I agree with DDNI, i've heard no horror stories as such about the chinese sellers as yet.

By the time the chip arrives from China, is sent to PG in Sweden and installed on my board and tested, the opportunity to file a PayPal dispute will have passed. I hope I don't sound like an asshole but it's my tolerance for risk rather than yours that is at issue here, you know what I mean?

All I wanted to know is if someone has a MC68060RC50 with the E41J mask that they're willing to sell and stand behind. I wasn't trying to start a discussion about the legitimacy of 68060s or I would I have posted in the hardware forum.

From what I heard over on Amiga.org, these Chinese chips are not actually made in China they are just reclaimed chips.
