Something about UFO I just wanna say.. nothing special.

Just started playing UFO: Enemy Unknown.... bah.. the Amiga version has no music when you move around your troops on the ground in search for aliens.. sooo boring.... the amiga version has very little animations..... in the amiga version you can't name your bases.... the amiga version has way fewer colors than the pc version in the earth globe part... etc etc..

Feck!... I'm playing the CD32 version and it's sooo much worse than the PC version.... didn't think it was..... at least the amiga version could have all the tunes.. but nooooo.

Wanted to make a longplay but... now I wont.

you can play the psx version it's better than the pc version
for the amiga version this is a script who loop i think perhaps you could record the song and integrate a simple amigados player in the script.
I don't if this is possible but perhaps

But it is still playable as hell I press play on my CD and listen to whatever tune I like. Here is the advantage!

So what? I am not expecting from strategy which runs on ECS chipset and was produced in 1993 to be fully "equipped" in useless data which probably all nowadays have and they suck.

You can. Probably it is not possible in CD32 version but in AGA and ECS version you can.

Are you sure about this? Even if you are, who cares? The game still rocks!

Worse in what way? You cannot fight the aliens or you just simply have less colours? If it is the latter, then I would agree if it judges whever something is worse or better.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that original PC version didn't have catchy tunes on the globe section. At least I read reviews which authors were saying that Amiga music in the game is far better than in PC.

I know, noticed that and posted a few posts up . But it's strange that the CD32 version, which should be the best one, CAN'T.

Worse in the ways that it has less music, less colors, less animations... especially the less music part .

The PC version has tunes everywhere.. in every part of the game... the Amiga version doesn't....

Can somenoe link me to a decent mus player so I can listen to the mus files on the disks to see if I can hear the "hunting for aliens on the ground" tune?.... had a mus format player for my miggy once....

find a good amigados cdda launcher make a cd with ufo musics and add a line for launching cdda just before the line (tactical "1" "0") and a line surely just after to stop cdda it must be possible,if you don't make a try i will next week but i have no such time for the moment.
ps look in the ufo script launcher

Am I right in thinking the CD32 version may not have the option to name bases because the system has no keyboard?

Or did they stuff in some kind of on-screen-keyboard thingy for the game?
(you know scroll throw the alphabet with the d-pad)

No onscreen keyboard.... but that must be the reason why you can't name a base in the CD32 version as it doesn't have a keyboard...

i agree with mailman, theres nothing wrong with the game just because a certain version has a few less bits of decoration, like less music..... so what? if you love the PC version that much, play the PC version rather than bitch about the amiga one.

Also, who doesnt have an a4000 keybpoard for their CD32 anyway? what are you, some kind of cheapskate IC?

Ironclaw should be banned!!!!

I used to play this game a lot back in the days on Amiga, and I never noticed later that PC version is different with music in background. I haven't noticed much difference in color/animations I guess because I was more into strategy part of the game.

What do you think, how long would be long play of this game??

At least unplayable on a non-accelerated Amiga 500. You can go jogging for some miles at the CPU turn.
