Haven't had a lot of time this round but did have a few attempts over the past week.. I couldn't even beat the first score I posted! I don't remember ever having a decent crack at SWIV solo, as in the past I almost always play 2up mode I wasn't around for Silkworm no, been a long time since I played that one. Thanks for the weapon mechanics tips, this game definitely has more behavioral variables then your average shooter |

I don't know if I'll have another blast at this. It's kinda fun until you get around 20% into the game and then it becomes insane and annoying - helicopters going diagonally, missiles everywhere and I really don't have the patience for this type of game right now...
Not quite bottom of the pack, but... 77,430 |

Mailman: I beat your score! But my screenshot is bad.
I am more than happy to retract my score if you like, because as a mod I'm sure you'd agree I should live up to the standard everyone else seems to manage ok. I have allowed it for now but I try to be a gentleman and see things in all ways. In some ways it is better a mod fall into this trap than a player, but at the same time, lets not think mods are beyond reproach or humble enough to live by the rules. I can only say I played fairly. I didn't have much time to play SWIV since my previous post here, but I'm making a final push to beat the game today. Came really close in this run:

I got much further than usual but came up against a Goose with no bubble nearby. I lost a life so flew over it trying to destroy it during the grace period of my last life, but it didn't work and it killed me again

I hope the game gets picked again for qualifying or first round of a knockout competition, so I can get another shot at beating it. I was a bit too tired today and getting nowhere after posting my 1.6 million score.
The round as a whole was great fun, though. I'm kinda surprised and happy at the same time that my score was enough for a 2nd place. Didn't expect that. |

BlackOceans, well done mate, you said SWIV is one of your favorite games and it shows
Congrats to you guys for scoring so well! I had a few more attempts but fail to beat my previous attempt.. tbh as much as I love this game it doesn't suit my usual shooter style - which is to destroy everything that moves! This approach gets you killed quickly in SWIV I think a patient, methodical approach is key with this one.. Anyway it's awesome to see so many players in the first round, hopefully it stays this way Lonewolf: well I think you had very little time this round yes, so you manage to submit a score at least |

Ah, Mailman - you settled my issue by posting a massive score, well done - thats always the best way to settle any argument in this compo.
