Yeah I've been working on that but I'm not optimistic any more. Music is just a mess with Freecraft, or I'm doing it wrong(probably the latter). I built Stratagus and that works great with BOS Wars and runs ok, even with OGG music, but when I use the Warcraft 2 data, it then runs like dogshit if it even runs. Wartool, the Warcraft 2 data import utility, just doesn't seem to be converting the stuff into the right format, not sure why. |

I'll try again and increase my power levels, maybe there's a spell that can be used. The other option-which is really not an option-is you can look at the BOS data and manually convert all the Warcraft data to the same format. Can't see what the difference would be then. Thinking on it, also I could try to build one of the later C++ versions, forgot that I can do this now. Last edited by grelbfarlk; 09 June 2018 at 23:05. |

Ah, I see. I saw 2015 on the aminet one and was thrown by the “GPmark improved, version: 2018 January 12” on the benchmark result.

I don't run it at that in my A4000d, it's just not worth the risk, it's not really that noticeable, and it's not 100% stable, but I didn't really try to make it stable. 500MHz is "normal" for me. But I put the stock speed one in because I can't test programs saying X works without stuttering because sometimes that's the difference of thinking something is "good" when it's not. And things. I have one at each speed (plus a couple more). When I finish building up this new tower I'll go for 650MHz then cousin of Rapture will be ready and no one will care, not that anyone does now. |

Hedeon: any chance of a version of GPMark_WOS that works on 603 and 604 processors? I'd like to benchmark the family.

Interesting. My Rapture RAM read/write speeds are generally much faster than you are showing for the Sister-of-Rapture (up to 750MB/s on writeb) but my GPMark figures are only a bit better than your Sonnet 500/1 |

Dead A3000 - oh no! Is that your dev machine?
What happens when I run GPMark on the following machines is either a reboot or an exception, seemingly just as it's about to do its first message: CSPPC + CVPPC <--- might be a video modes problem BPPC + Mediator 1200TX + Voodoo3 |

Yes. Hoping that it is some safety feature. It started by the HD suddenly powering off while the machine was still happily running MiniSlug....
Turned on the machine just now and it at least gets to the Early Startup Screen now. So I'm waiting for temperature to drop. Already cost me a R9 280X yesterday in my PC too. Toni would be proud. What kind of exception? Program? |

It looks like that PCI transactions are better handled by the Harrier chip-set (reading and writing to a frame buffer of a Voodoo card for example). Strangely enough, Voxelspace, which has a 'G' option which should enable direct framebuffer access is about where you would expect a 450MHz PPC in regards to the Sonnet 500/1.
