1084 to SCART cable?

Has anybody build one of those?
I want to connect a regular RGB SCART cable to the 1084. Most of my consoles have RGB cables so this makes sense.

However I haven't found any docs online, only people having problems getting the sync to work.

So, anybody has tried or has any more information about this?

Someone says you need to build some sort of circuitry to bring down Composite video to Csync levels? I have no idea here

Which style 1084 do you have? D-sub or DIN?

You might do well with a sync strike for cleaning / splitting the sync, then wire it up to the h+vsync in the Analog RGB.

If you have a DB9 input on your 1084 you can simply use this alongside with a gender changer: http://m.ebay.com/itm/PHILIPS-CM8833...-/320754731999

I bought mine a few months ago for the exact same use case and it works perfectly. Do not forget the gender changer if your monitor connector is male.

Update: I forgot to mention that the console-to-SCART cables I use already take care of producing proper sync signals. I do not think this adapter modifies signals in any way but I could try to open it and check if you want me to verify.

Hmm the one I have now has a DIN type input, not D-SUB.
I'm getting another monitor soon and am not sure what that has.

If you have a DIN connector 1084, you can add a SCART connector — the board is already prepared for it, as is the case. There are instructions for doing it, basically you add the connector, a transistor, perhaps some resistor and cut some trace. I can find the exact instructions if you need.

Both my current 1084s (D2) have a DB-9 connector.
In either case I was not able to come up with instructions past the link I posted on the first message, which seemed a bit complicated :/

All right, I have built a SCART adapter for D9. Just straight-through connections.

The only problem was that the screen could turn out quite bright depending on what kind of SCART cable I was using.

I've since sold it, but I plan to make a new one any day now since I've acquired two new 1084s.

I think 1084s is ready for scart, you just need someone to put the connector inside.

Not the modern model with D9. The old DIN connector ones shared their PCB and casing with SCART-equipped ones.

we would need to know the exact model of the monitor for a adaptor if thats what your doing

simply read the label on the back and come back,that way there is no guessing,ok bud

there are about 5 variants of these the 1084s part dont mean much


EDIT: ah....i think its the 1084S-P,you might have trouble with sync on these depending on the chassis

EDIT2: i read through the link you posted as someone else was having trouble with a 1084S-P a while ago ,there are mistakes in that post..so best off not taking much notice unless your confident in electronics,if you follow it exactly it wont work or wont work properly

I built a SCART cable for my 1084S. But I needed to feed the signals from 1980/90's consoles into a sync stripper first.
I followed the circuit guide from mmonkey. I also fitted a 3.5mm audio out so I could use a 3.5mm jack to phono lead to feed the 1084S (or out to separate speakers).
My 1084 has a D-sub for RGB.

You only need to do that if the console does not provide CSYNC. The Megadrive and SNES do provide CSync for example, so you don't need a sync stripper.
