B.A.T. woes
B.A.T. hangs with FS-UAE 2.7.8 in some rooms, e.g. behind the hotel and across the central junction. I shows me the clock mouse pointer forever, still moving and no guru. I've tried A500 and A1200 emulation at different accuracy levels and drive speeds. Has anybody had this problem before? What other options should I tweak?

No one? Really?
B.A.T. is a classic and it is crippled. |

Not really much help to you as I'm using WinUAE; all is good
Standard A500 configuration i.e. KS 1.3 / 512K Chip and 512K Slow RAM. What disks do you use? I'm using these: ... B.A.T. (1990)(Ubi Soft)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr QTX].adf [CRC: 15340998] ... B.A.T. (1990)(Ubi Soft)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr QTX].adf [CRC: DDFED590] |

Thank you. Emulation core should be the same and configuration, images should also match:
B.A.T. (1990)(Ubi Soft)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr QTX].adf B.A.T. (1990)(Ubi Soft)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr QTX][a].adf B.A.T. (1990)(Ubi Soft)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr QTX].adf What tool did you use for checksum? With cksum I get 3043976322 3710189751 719854392 and with md5sum 8c3538c418e58cd5499b8bb2917d13ca 89ba924296a084bbe5748f2f49cb95d3 a809a3d12c529dc733a889e229f06d50 respectively. Weird. Maybe this should be moved to support.fs-uae then? |

I've been using WinUAE since 2004 and am very happy with progress / features / bug fixes etc. (cheers Master Wilen) so have never felt the need to even try or ultimately change Amiga emulators Quote:

...but without doing the above, I would probably say so I've heard that FS-UAE has a database with best versions / configurations (much like GameBase Amiga). That is very cool indeed (would have saved me years of testing etc...) After all of the above, I guess if you say the disks recommended by FS-UAE don't work then yes; report to the emulator author (or even better; find a set that does possibly work) Last edited by DamienD; 17 June 2016 at 00:25. |

My CRC is the same as yours and it runs on WinUAE but not on FS-UAE. Strange. I'll PM Frode Solheim and hope he will look into this.
The bug is easy to reproduce: On an emulated A500 (or A1200) - go through right door "WC" - go north and click "ok" for briefing - exit south - exit east - go north to leave space dock - go north to leave space port - go east behind hotel -> game hangs |

Nice work Gilgamesh!!!
Now that we have details / comparisons / steps to reproduce; I'm sure Frode will be able to investigate and fix for all FS-UAE people |

This is strange. When the game hangs and shows the clock pointer, it continues whenever I change floppies. Maybe changing disks signals an interrupt?

actually the quartex cracktro tells you to swap disks when the led flashes.
tricky part is fs-uae dont show drive/power led by default. but you can easily setup a theme to make led's visible. for example open the settings then go to advanced settings and put a line like theme = AMIGA and you can see the led now . there is a few more thems in your themes directory so you can chose one which fits your likes the most. |

Thanks for the heads-up, thevoice. I wish I had known this before making such a fuss.
