EAB member meeting summer 2008 - II

Okay. So, we´re going to meet in the U.K. (surprise, surprise )

Before I invite the British Amigans to make suggestions where our meeting could take place, I´d like to verify some important (?) points.

So, please wait a bit. Poll is on the way...

Well, of course, this poll didn´t answer specific questions but it´s a start.

Edit: If you don´t care having a drinking session please vote "yes".

Lightbulb A matter of choice

Even though I myself am NOT alowed to drink anymore I see that the need for an organised social gethering with a " winding down " from travel session is VITAL.

Meeting the Faces behind the nicknames will be enough of a shock for many to drive even the MOST sober to it !

So without wishing to tie visitors to more expenses than an "open " informal meet & greet session I am more than happy to provide a music & sound rig at any venue in the North west of England { if it is held here } to ensure embarassing total silences are kept to a minimum

This is NOT my bid to host the get together it is just an offer of resources that others may believe can be used else where

Even if I am unable to attend the event myself for health reasons ...fear of riot at seeing the living dead from members
etc ..I can promise a representive or family member of mine can ensure the offer is made good

Perhaps, but personally I don't think it makes a lot of difference either way.

No, because we have to check out a decent location.

For example, it doesn´t make sense to choose a small room just to find out that there´s no room left for our Amigas or to rest/sleep.

There are plenty of Old Social clubs in the UK

These useally have "barn sized" function rooms for hire or which can be booked.

The gathering in 2008 may use one or two of these venues for different logistic purposes ..

1] For the social drink

2]For the Amiga gaming part

While small amounts of alchol & Amiga mix well a BINGE party & Amiga would not.

I do not see in my head that amiga useres are generaly camping fiends with tents & caravans ...so the prospect of an typical English summer downpour would dampen a lot more than just canvas.

Therefore knowing the need for cheap B & B less than { £12.00 a night } accomodation is proberly the best solution....eg for a North West suitable locations both Southport & Morecambe spring to mind....as the more famous Blackpool is far more expensive mid season & harder to find reasonable price meeting halls in.

I know I am jumping ahead but with the type of accuracey this poll provides I am just fielding choices for the next one

Yes, I had social clubs in mind, too.
(Feeling at home there as a social worker )

I appreciate what you said and our next poll will be more detailed.
At least we´ll be able to see what kind of building or rooms we need.

for the question about Bill Mcewen, i was near to vote yes but i change my mind because we could have a fight session, and there is no fight session in your pool then voted no.
Sorry bill but this is for your security.
And so many amigans are angry against you.
ps but if bill make something very positive for the amiga before the meeting, please make a poll again for this question.
