WinUAE vs. BOINC

I noticed that the Priority Task Mangement is suboptimal when running BOINC and WinUAE 3.6.1 together on Windows 10 and playing Sound on WinUAE the Sound in WinUAE stutters!

WinUAE 3.6.0 32 Bit has much better priority Manaagement than 3.6.1 while 3.6.0. has a litle slowdown on Windows 10 64 Bit which it hasn't got in 32 Bit Version of Windows

In WinUAE 3.6.0 32 Bit Sound doesnt get broken when BOINC is running and it is running much better on 32 Bit Version of Windows 10 than on 64 Bit Version of Windows 10!
bits!
WinUAE 3.6.1 beta 7 32 Bits runs also quite fine on my configuration running Boinc at the same time on Windows 10 32 Bits!

BOINC is an open-source software platform for computing using volunteered resources.

There is very few differences between 3.6.0 and 3.6.1 and if there really is differences between 32-bit and 64-bit behavior: It obviously is nothing (at least directly) WinUAE related.

Anyway, I don't really about those kinds of special situations -> unsupported situation.

Especially if all CPU cores are at 100% and you still expect some other program to run at full speed. It also could be CPU cache related too (64-bit is larger than 32-bit), BOINC and WinUAE continously fighting for CPU cache can cause slowdowns.

Toni.. I noticed that these Sound Stuttering Problems running WinUAE vs. BOINc are more a GPU Issue than CPU Issue on 64 Bit Windows.. when I deactivate GPU Computing in BOINC.. WinUAE runs fast as hell.. :-)

You can try changing WinUAE display rendering mode (d3d11 vs d3d9 or even directdraw), if there is some GPU "conflict".

In DirectDraw Mode with LocalVRAM Sound Playback is normal even if GPU Computing is on in BOINC!
