@all - Please address your remarks about lack of patience to some well-known Kickstarter countdown timer, which sets the deadline for me to make certain decision. For me it would be no problem if the caps campaign started even 5 months later - given how long I wait for the Vampire (previously known as Natami) this is hardly any issue.

And I really don't like being blamed for being cautious regarding what I eventually decide to co-fund.

@Phil - Till now I had mainly one question - whether I will like the case or not. And no one but me will be able to answer it But this is something I totally don't understand:

And well... they'll be delivered Q2 2017 at most.
It's perfectly OK if you can't tell when exactly the product will be sent, or that you are almost certain something unexpected will delay it. But why to make such a definite statements in this situation???

It's fine to be cautious. It's the reason you gave for being cautious that was the problem. The team has been nothing but transparent about delays this whole time, and you're calling them out saying that you won't back the next project until they deliver the first, which isn't at all fair.

Anyway, I've said my piece, I think everyone should back this.

I'm sorry if someone got offended.

Unfortunately, I have seen countless of crowdfunding projects, Steam early accesses, etc., asking for funding and delivering either nothing or something far from what was described. I was thinking a lot whether to back the cases campaign, or just wait and purchase it in some shop, without any risk (eventually chosen the 1st option). I would really prefer to see the case before doing it again.

Sorry Norway , don't get butthurt. Just talking about a little thing concerning venture capitalism. That's where socialism gets it's funding.

Okay, no more from me on politics, it is economics I wanted to focus on.

@Romanujan,

True, only you can tell if you'll like the case or not. In that there is not much i can do other than telling you that we've worked really hard so that hopefully *most* backers are going to like it.

And i really hope that you too are going to like it

These two statements are taken out of their context.
The first one "We're not manufacturing pizzas" mean that the projects we're working on are industrial processes and as such delays can happen. And these are not predictable.

The other statement "they'll be delivered Q2 2017 at most", mean that at last Keycaps will be sent to backers at the end to the Timeline. But it might be before that.

Reason is that I also stated i added 2 extra months (meaning they're included) to this time table you can see on the KS campaign.

I thought what i said was pretty clear and straight forward

Not at all, you should educate yourself. Or perhaps you cannot afford to.

So I am guessing you are about 15 to 17 years old? Or the mental equivalent.

But if you support the Keycaps campaign Romanujan i can always make an exception and deliver you 2018

And keycaps production should start before end of the year of course. Keycaps delivery as well as cases are meant for early '18.
I think I don't understand anything anymore...

Nothing much to understand, there were inevitable manufacturing delays.

I probably should have posted in this thread rather than the A500 Case thread, but any idea if and when more A1200 cases will be available?

Good question, I sent them a message about this on the campaign web site. I'll post the answer here if & when I get them...

I’d love them too to do some renderings...

Ok got an answer:
-----------------------------

"The team is still working on that.
We need to remove the signatures from the model and find the appropriate.

Since we had to modify the molds - hence the models - recently, these weren't made public yet.

Releasing the files also has a legal impac that once settled models will be published under the correct licensing & copyright.

Thank you for your patience on that, we're a small team with a lot to do and all on our spare time "

I’m sure their promise is lose enough so they don’t have to release production models... “dead 3D” models (just the solid) should be enough to keep their promise, I don’t understand why such a fuss... anyway.

We already have Q3 2020, I still didn't get my keycaps, and it doesn't seem they will be delivered anytime soon (BTW, I still don't know how to get the SolidWorks files for the A1200 case which were promised to be released to the public if the stretch goal is reached).

Have you considered to refund the backers that were unlucky not to get their reward?

Yeah, I'm still waiting for my keycaps as well. Crowdfunding is always slow, but when several years pass by, it is hard not to start losing hope..

Right, I almost forgot about those A500 cases which I am also still waiting for, but based on their latest communication I'm optimistic that they will soon be able to ramp up production of those.
I'm used to things taking a while in this world. My first Vampire board arrived 1½ years after I (pre-)ordered it, but that just made it feel like christmas when it finally did arrive.

They still send out fairly regular updates to keep backers in the loop. Im also still waiting for special edition caps to go with my special edition A1200 case as well as a couple of A500 cases and a bunch of other key caps. But I see no reason for losing hope. These are extraordinary times and stuff like crowdfunding will inevitabely suffer, especially as you depend on things you have no control over.
Unlike some other crowd funding projects (yea I supporter the Tel Jeroen campaign, that didnt go well) this one is simply delayed to to circumstances out of anyones control. So, just chill and the stuff will show up eventually..
