Can someone explain to me exactly what a Catweasel does? I remember thinking about buying one years ago, but had no money at time, and havent heard of it since.

The CW is a floppy controller for the PC. With the right software it allows you to read and write floppy disks of any format (Amiga, Mac, Atari, C64, PC etc.) AFAIK currently you can only read and write Amiga floppy disks with the supplied ImageTool. No direct support in WinUAE yet, but you can use the Amiga software for the old CW ISA or CW MK2 to access the drives from AmigaOS side.

The latest version of the CW additionally allows you to connect Amiga mice, joysticks and keyboards to the PC although there are no Windows drivers yet AFAIK.

Also the new CW takes up to two SID chips as found in the C64. With them you can create synthetic sounds like the C64 did (e.g. to play .sid modules).

Yes. You can use Amiga drive if you want, they are after all the exact same with minor changes in wiring and disk detection
