max rally (aga) guru
The game MAX Rally when run on AGA config guru's when I'm about to start a race.
It works fine if I use an ECS config. Both ECS and AGA modes works fine with the game in WinUAE 1.5.3. I have upped the game to the zone for testing purposes. |

Moved from beta thread because it will crash on earlier versions too.
It calls debugging routine (which does not exists in release version) by executing trap #0 with error string "Raster-wait position out of range". Probably some not-too-good sanity check.. EDIT: yes, it is stupid check, it has small CPU loop that reads DFF004 continuously. If vpos isn't correct after 30000 loops it crashes by calling that non-existing debugging routine. (this won't ever work with JIT, non-JIT mode depends on host PC speed, adjusting CPU/chipset rate should help..) Last edited by Toni Wilen; 29 November 2008 at 10:39. |

So it's just a matter of time before it will or perhaps I was just lucky it didn't [edit] I was lucky the first time, it crapped out on me halfway through a race this time. Last edited by Retroplay; 29 November 2008 at 20:09. |

When selecting 'Championship', then 'Challenge' mode, the countdown starts for the race, then as the race begins I get a guru.
This is the same with the unofficial CD32 port I found, and the disk version on planet emu. I assume [b] in the Tosec title means it's a bad image. Has anyone got a version in which this mode works? |

Embarassing... Just created a CD32 disc and tried it out on real HW... and it works (although without sound... see http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=537860#post537860)! Must be an emulation bug in winUAE!
Sorry for wasting everyones time. I think this probably means that the [b] should be removed from the TOSEC entry - I've confirmed it works here on real HW and have been playing it all afternoon. Last edited by Heavy Stylus; 17 April 2009 at 22:47. |

If you read Toni's replies above you'll see it is a bug in game

The 2 adfs from the TOSEC set guru's from disk and when installed to HD.
However the HD version (lha archive) posted here in the zone a while ago works flawless for me, on real hardware, I haven't checked in WinUAE. |
