Overclocking the 3630
Is there a way to overclock the 3630 card? I would like to shoot for 33mhz but not sure if its even possible.
There is space for an oscillator but that is for the FPU. Where does the signal come for the CPU, straight of the 3000mb? Any thoughts thanks |

@desantii
I believe that you can include a over-clock the A3630 1. Set both Clock Jumpers on the Motherboard to EXT 2. Set J101 pins on the A3630 to 2 & 3 I believe from my research that J101 header set to 2 and 3 in such a configuration with the motherboard jumpers set to EXT clock sources will Share the onboard clock for both the CPU and FPU, I plan to confirm this when my good friend has finished borrowing mine. you will need to do the following to the A3630 1. add a socket to the 14pin DILL oscialtor position 2. add an appropriate Oscilator 3. remember that the Card is upside down once mounted/installed so I would't recommend it past 40mhz to be honest, not without some some active cooling. I would suggest looking in the future for a full core 030 in QFP package, they are available for around $40 on fleabay.com =) |

I tried this in an A3000 (seting the pins to EXT) and was not able to really get anything, just a no boot.
