Very slow disk access to virtual HD file with SmartFileSystem
Strange case: if I use very old WUAE versions (tested from 2.5.1 to 2.8.1) directory access from WB is visibly insanely fast compared to latest WinUAE builds after 3.x.x
When I open my WHDLoad collection drawer full of hundreds of games, contents are almost instantly displayed with pre 3.x.x. Recent versions instead are incredibly slow (something like a real A500!). Is this "normal" because something is changed in the code for compatibility reasons? Attached my cfg. Toni, I can send you a private link with my HD image from my GDrive Last edited by hexaae; 01 April 2017 at 17:30. |

How is that reply going to help? It makes no sense..

Attach logs first. (tick debugging in paths panel, boot to "slow" wb, quit, attach bot log files)

Ok, attached bootlogs.
Booted, opened the "slow" drawer full of WHDLoad games and then quitted emu. |

What is last "fast" version? (non-beta, after found, it is time to find the exact beta).
What do you mean by g-sync? If you use g-sync, never enable any normal vsync option, it won't work. Correct option is "variable sync" option. |

Tested all old versions: last "fast" was 3.0.0 (2014.12.17)
Slowdown started with 3.1.0. |

3.1 betas are temporarily back. http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae_3100bX.zip (X=3 to 23). First two were winuae_3010b1.zip and b2.

Try adjusting CPU idle setting. Idle logic changed completely in b1.
