Gauntlet III

Morning guys,

Does anybody know how to get Gauntlet III to work? I've tried the .adf + .ipf, quick start configs and loads of different configurations but the best I can get is very scrambled graphics (on what looks to be the title screen) and the game goes no further...

If somebody has a working config that would be great.

This was quite interesting.. Game crashes if any device in parallel port sends ACK-signal. (for example if character is sent to connected printer)

There was bug in improved printer code that set ACK even if printer was not connected.

near end of level 3 interrupt:
Code:
000206d2 BTST.B #$0004,$00bfed01 ; FLAG-bit set in CIA-A interrupt register? (CIA-A FLAG = parallel port ACK)

Perhaps some remnants of four player adapter support code were forgotten in the code?

Thank you for your replies Toni and Jope.

Definitely don't have anything connected to the printer port...

Is this something that can be fixed via the emulator settings / configuration or do I just need to patient until the next WinAUE version comes out (with bug fixed)?

There is no workarounds and you don't have to wait long

Tested Gauntlet III last night with WinUAE v1.1.1 and it works perfectly (of course).
