Chris Hülsbeck, a genius !
Always tought he was the best video game music composer.
The [ Show youtube player ] is just a master piece for me !!! But not only the title music, a lot of musics in that game are fantastic ! [ Show youtube player ] of The turrican main theme. i like it less because it's rather far away from the original, but the passages that reminds me to the original give me a great nostalgic feeling [ Show youtube player ], another master piece ! [ Show youtube player ] is great too. I also loved the [ Show youtube player ]. It is a bit less heavy, but with the sound effect in the game and the game itself it works just perfectly. Loved it ! here some [ Show youtube player ] All what he does is just great , or what do you think ? who is/was a even better composer for you ? Best on the Amiga for me although I did love David Whittaker and Richard Joseph's work. Paul Van Der Valk didn't do a great deal but what he did was awesome.
Best video game composer overall has to be Tim Follin for me. With Rob Hubbard 2nd. |

He he, give it a few more years and then you can call this a Chris Huelsbeck tribute site Posts and/or threads of praise and worship pop up every now and then.
I love his work, he has a serious talent for creating memorable tunes and picking samples that blend perfectly. But at the same time I think he's getting a bit too much praise, its not fair towards the other great game music composers of his time that are nearly forgotten today. |

Yeah, the music is great. I really look forward to receiving my copy of the soundtrack with the original on an USB stick as well. $75 well spent.

His most recent work is Giana Sisters - Twisted dreams, where he composed dual tunes together with famous Machinae Supremacy. Sounds good, his Amiga work is way better though.

I have Giana Sisters - Twisted Dreams, both the game and the DRM free OST.
I have also backed the Turrican Soundtrack. Hope we all backers get our Turrican goodies before Christmas. |

I definitely agree with this! There's no doubt in my mind that the music for Turrican II in particular is brilliantly written and still stands up to this day, but there are more than a few other Amiga musicians whose work I respect! Not just game musicians, but 'scene' musicians too (or whatever you want to call them, even though I know in several cases there is some overlap!) |

Hülsbeck captured the medieval spirit perfectly in Grand Monster Slam. A much loved favourite of mine.

I've still got T2 as my ring tone, most of the time leave it for a few more seconds just to hear it as much as I can. I'm still waiting for someone else to recognise it while it's playing. That would be a great "Amiga Bro" moment Screw the SotB remake, remake Turrican with loads of new Chris Hülsbeck music |

The music he did for Turrican 2 is brilliant, but I have to say that Turrican 3 and Apidya are his best work in my opinion.
