Prince Of Persia Online!

Just found a flash game called Prince Of Persia Special Edition which seems to be a promo for a new Prince Of Persia game.

This flash game plays just like the original but has a whole new layout, check it out if you are a PoP fan!

There are a few features missing though. I didn't really like it.

Nice graphics (looks like Prince of Persia 2 on the PC) but the sound sucks.

And I drank a red potion : it removed 1 hp instead of giving one ; at least, in the Amiga game, poisoned potions were dark blue instead of red ! I don't like this remake !

I just found some of the controls lacking in comparison to the original. It's been a while since I played it now but I believe there was some of the moves that you just couldn't perform anymore.

They are actually graphics taken from Prince Of Persia for the Mac. They look just like this (PoP1, that is. Best version ever)

I couldnt test it well, ran like shit in my system.

I thought the PC and Amiga graphics of Prince of persia 1 was quite nice, even if simple I really liked the movement of the sprite.

POP 2 (and POP 1 for the MAC?) just looked too cartoony to fit with the backgrounds of POP1.

WHOO!

What an addictive one!
Thanks guys!
[edit] completed it in 5:04 minutes!

AND THE GAME IS NOW IN STORES!!!

BTW, this new character animation might also attract *female* gamers, who will agree with me that the Prince has gotten a nice slinky ass meanwhile [see screenshot :P]
(worlds apart from the "slightly mitigated" Amiga version btw )

(our meega-grrl might want to give some sorta valuation, too)

out of curiosity: the tecnique used to make the sprite here is not rotoscopy right?
i like it enough anyway but i think that it loose something (that i can't tell ) from the amiga version. that make me think that the amiga PoP had a different and catching visual feeling from its contemporary and i did'nt noticed back then!

The technique is called "rotoscoping". This is the process of producing handrawn animation by tracing images in frames of film footage.

I have New Prince of Persia sands of time on Xbox it's F'ing stunning keeps the idea of the original intact and blends
it with a bit of Matrix type effects all in loverly 3d.

Also includes elements of max payne 2 (time rewind etc) and even a dash of soul reaver/legacy of kain sucking in souls etc

great game but i am stuck at the moment!

It also has the Original prince of persia to play as an option in menu when u done 33% of game (if i remeber right!) (You have to beat your way thru some wall or sumat to find it )

I'm planning on throwing the new POP onto my wishlist. Good to hear you think it lives up to the original.
