After Bamiga there’s Fortress BBS.

One of our members at the Belgian Amiga Club ran the FortressBBS and just uploaded everything that was ever uploaded there to his server. It will be available until august so grab it / mirror it while you can. It is *a lot*

http://vannieuwenhoven.nu/Fortress/

He also aquired some other collections that he uploaded

Grabbing a mirror image of the Fortress BBS section now. Not sure if I have enough drive space available at minute though as I have no idea how large this is.
Might have to stick another 2tb drive in my PC's case if I run out of space on the current one.
@hiho
Best way is to do as I am. Use Httrack or similar to download the whole site.

I think the Fortress stuff is already on the FTP (Uploads/happymondays/Fortress BBS/).

And the Flare collection looks to be the same as Commodore_Amiga/Collection/BBS/BELGIAN SPREADING ASSOCIATION FACTORIES on the FTP.

Should we download each single file here ?

There is no ftp to connect to ?

Anyway talybont is right, the most of this stuff is already on the ftp

The only collection that seems really new is the SSC one

But i'm not going to single click more than 4000 files

Maybe you should put the computer to work instead?

I just warezed the Fortress collection:

Total wall clock time: 21m 41s
Downloaded: 23267 files, 7,4G in 9m 49s (12,8 MB/s)

As I am not associated with them ( read: I didnt find this as a 12000 disk collection on someone’s attic ) so I can’t say what is already online and what not. As this was already archived like maybe 15 years ago or longer and sat on a harddrive ever since.

I know they sold warez cdroms back then so yes , a lot of it is most likely already somewhere. So good for crossreference I guess.

The Fortress BBS stuff on the ftp is smaller, plus if it was the same it shouldn't be on there anyway because it contains some files that are a no no for the EAB ftp.
It's possible the difference in size could be because someone removed the offending files I suppose. There's a LOT of files to look through, the site mirror is 7.4Gb in size!

How much smaller are we talking? The extra zip compression could also account for the smaller size. But I'm sure you're right, it seems like you know what you're talking about.

I haven't looked or compared to see what the difference is if any. There is stuff in the download that is directly against the ftp rules though, so they wouldn't be allowed if discovered. The up-loader would also be banned probably for putting the ftp at risk.
If you take a look at the file-lists on the Fortress download you'll see the files I'm talking about, kickstart ROM's, Workbench disks, etc.

For convenience's sake, I created Torrents for these files, so they can be preserved. Just in case.

The links are magnet links, and not Torrent files.

Fortress (~7.91GB)
Flare (~5.33GB)
MAD (~1.93GB)
SSC (~2.5GB)

I submitted the links to the Internet archive, I guess they will be mirrored on the way back machine eventually.

ALL the other stuff is ALREADY on the eab ftp

I will not repeat this again

No need to be like that chip... where's your contribution instead of just complaining / hassling people for stuff?

Excellent find, just checked out the first dir and they have some h/p stuff. Will upload that to the ftp dir. It's great that I can grab individual files, I wonder what script he used to build the html?

Was fortress one of those [ELITE ONLY] BBS's advertised in the cracktros??

SMOKEG6.txt Somkers guide 6, + injecting acid. Haha classic

while I already skiped the big archives, can you imagine, it was Chip's last reply,
which made me searching again on the SSC website, and we now got something (maybe) ultra rare

that's some sort of contribution aswell - this one too ( #3 )
