Picture bobbing 1 rasterline up and down
I've had this through all(?) WinUAE versions, misc PCs including this laptop, configurations usually re-created from scratch with each new WinUAE version.
It's independent of picture mode (full screen, windowed, hires, null filter, etc), so it could be an emu problem of the Amiga. I have a full ECS A500+ config with chip slow and fast ram. Too tired to post my config Toni, sorry. But maybe you've heard of this before? (also too tired to search the forums, slap me with a fish). But I've had it working, so should be the config? Wouldn't know how to get rid of it though. Any advice appreciated. I'm running WinUAE 1.5.2 (latest stable). |

Never heard, never seen.
EDIT: Use built-in video recording feature when it happens. Do you see the problem in recorded video? Last edited by Toni Wilen; 14 October 2008 at 23:11. |

Hey Photon,
Do you mean something like the attached? I get this very rarely and mainly if I'm using an old version of WinUAE like v1.0.0... Standard A500 settings for the configuration... Last edited by DamienD; 27 July 2016 at 14:46. |

Yes DamienD. Although mine seemed to do that "above" the CLI window, causing the whole "screen" to bob. Yours looks very reminiscent of something I got quite a long time ago.
Can't seem to reproduce it now, which is a good thing I guess. Will try to catch it if I get it again |

Same here, very, very rare, but I can only confirm it for newer versions, and it's practically impossible to reproduce on demand, even with savestates.

I got this bobbing picture bug yesterday as well with latest WinUAE. I've seen it in some prior version as well but can't recall which one, and I can't reproduce it.
I've seen some another rare bug in fullscreen mode related to the D3D code most likely, where the background color outside the emulated display has different colors through the swap chain, and you get a faint flashing effect on the screen. BTW will the OpenGL mode be back in the next stable release? |

"very rarely" is the problem.

I've had these lying around my hard drive for a while. IIRC, the giana sisters screenie was taken with 1.53, and the later (neural assault demo) with a 1.62 beta. Not useful for much, other than to confirm it happens in lowres and lowres+overscan modes alike on seemingly arbitrary lines. |

I've had that 'one raster line picture split' behaviour lots and lots of times with WinUAE in all versions I've used - although I must qualify that by saying that I haven't tried the latest WinUAE beta.
Normally I just put up with it until I exit / restart WinUAE which clears the problem. When the problem has occurred I notice that whenever I use keyboard or mouse input the effect shows. What I mean is, the problem has occurred but while I leave WinUAE alone the display is stable. However, when I then type or move the mouse the screen shows a one rasterline split and 'bobs' in time to the keypresses / mouse movements. If I get it again soon I'll do a savestate if it helps...? |

Now you see I don't make things up Toni (Well you probably didn't think that, but I also had trouble getting a screenshot, and I also related it to keyb or mouse input (as I wrote))

Just in case this helps in any further way with this one Toni I just noticed something else.
I had the bug again, screen tearing on mouse movements. I tried both F12 and clicking reset and F12 and clicking restart and neither cleared the problem. I had to actually exit WinUAE and then run it again for the screen tear to go away. |

Yeah, it almost sounds as if the save-restore of the save state would "repair" the problem. So maybe a diff of the memory contents in the save-state file and those of the "live" WinUAE could help in tracking down the bugger...
