Putty Squad Mystery

Does anybody know what really happened to Putty Squad Amiga version ?
There is rumour, crackers released final version In 1994 before it was released
officially, but nobody seems to have this version. It exists only for Sega
Megadrive. And, Alive Mediasoft never released it as they promised.

This game seems to be the Holy Grail in the Amiga community. It has been discussed a number of times in different forums, and people has been searching for it with no luck. It hurts to say, but I don´t think it exists.

I only wonder why most of people remember 5 disk version released as crack
Putty Squad was even reviewed in one Czech magazine with quite detailed informations,
I wonder if i can find that guy who reviewed it.

Oi, The One reviewed it as well AND I do remember seeing the 5 disk cracked version. As I said before to Codetapper, I am looking for this game, for I know it has been spread around here.

Unluckily my latest project at work didnt let me go to town and scourge the local Amiga shops (teh few that are still around) so I didn't got a look yet.

Will keep you guys posted.

Talking about Putty Squad

A few months ago I found the website of System 3, but I can't find it anymore. I know they're not called System 3 anymore. Does anybody know the url?

Cool System 3

They are now called Studio 3:

http://www.studio3.co.uk

Don't expect them to reply to any emails that are Amiga related!

Programmer

Has anybody tried to find the programmer (John Twiddy) of this game? It's also possible to find other persons of the Putty Squad team like, Phil Tornton who did the gfx and was responsible for the whole concept of the game. Maybe they have a copy of Putty Squad and are willing to give it to the Amiga community. If they don't have a copy of it, maybe they can help us in other ways.

That's a really good idea. I didn't know we had the info on who worked on the game...I must not have those mags with the Putty Squad stuff. I won't complain if someone wants to make scans of this data...

Well, if I am correct we have a 'review' of Putty Swuad, so a scan of it isn't a problem, when it's finshed, I will post again...

Putty Squad works flawlessly on emulators

There is a WHDLoad version of the Putty Squad demo which was tested heavily on emulators and works perfectly. Nobody has reported any problems with it to me. Just install WHDLoad and run an Amiga 1200 like machine (must be AGA chipset and at least 2Mb chip)

Have a look at this web site link

http://www.nutts.demon.co.uk/puttydemo.html

It says this game was never relased but Alive Mediasoft will do so soon. After reading the first post it looks like Alive Mediasoft have also abandoned this game. Someone could email them to see when/if they will be releasing it.

Codetapper
I downloaded the demo of your site and it now works fine. I must of had a bad copy.

Alive is not 'alive'....

Yes, Alive Mediasoft said(!) they would release the game, but they never did. In fact, the amiga side of Alive Mediasoft doesn't exist anymore. Have a look at www.alivemediasoft.co.uk, no amiga-word mentioned here. I doubt if the people behind this company are the same as the 'previous' people of Alive Mediasoft.
I also heard people pre-ordered the game, paid money for it, but never received the game. Then suddenly Alive wasn't 'alive' anymore.

Cool Alive Mediasoft

Alive Mediasoft have been gone for a long time. I ordered two games from them - one arrived and the other didn't. After many phone calls, I had nothing. I heard similar reports.

I don't think they ever had a deal to release Putty Squad.

Alive Mediasoft is full of shit, and they have been found distributing and selling illegal copies of some games (Cedric methinks). everything they touched turned onto a pile of turd, and I doubt they EVER got their mitts on Putty Squad
