Silica Systems Advert PDF

For nostalgic reasons and ease of reference, i have put this Silica advert PDF together, featuring both Atari and Amiga adverts between 1985 and 1996.

Edit: also uploaded the full December 1993 Catalogue here.

Awesome work, the Silica ads tend to be my go-to for checking prices and bundles at particular times. They pretty much launched to sell the then-new ST, and folded around the time Escom relaunched the Amiga, so they perfectly cover the commercial heyday of the last two big home computers. Great to have these comparisons of Amiga and ST prices at hand.

Yeah very true, and surprisingly they don’t advertise the Amiga 500 until Jan 1989, it’s always the ST in multi-format mags upto that date, even though they had it in their 87-88 catalogues.

What is it about reading through old computer ads that makes it so soothing?

Going back to the memory of spending hours contemplating to buy something off the page? Seeing all the "new items" there? The empowering feeling that you can finally afford all of it if you choose to?

I remember buying an A500+ off them for £199 from that advert (when it was £199 obvs)

Random purchase one afternoon when I fancied jumping back in.

WOW! Nostalgia hits home! I purchased a Commodore 1084S monitor off them and a A570 CD-ROM for my A500, also some other small bits and pieces from time to time.
Great times for sure!

This is great. I recently bought some old CU Amiga and Amiga Format mags just to browse through

Looking at this, price differences between 030 and 040 4000 quite staggering maybe £600 once you take the slight difference in ram into account then further down you can buy an entire 386 bridgeboard for £250. Didn't realise how cheap they were
