ANAIIS 1.xx - updates and fixes.

ANAIIS 1.03 is available on Aminet
http://aminet.net/package/driver/other/anaiis

Massive: Fix multiple access (by adding a semaphore)
Anaiis: User can detach interface by clicking twice on it... (do it before unplug any massstorage, to prevent data loss)

Thanks Gilles, I'm always happy to help with more testing on the A600 and A1200.

Love your work!

Thanks a lot, but be careful with your data, massive is a tricky thing I must debug and fix (expecially write operations) It work fine with a usb->SATA disk (it drains only 2 mA !) but tricky with 4GB and up thumbs. for a reason I don't know ...

I'll try and test both types of drives with it and let you know how I go, thanks for the warning!

Problem found with a Verbatim thumb, FAT32 formatted, fat95, maxtransfer=4096.
When the system claims about a block and presents Wiederholen Abbruch, launch DumpX and read the faulty block, then click on Wiederholen... and the problem will vanish.
Please never click Abbruch, you *will* lost all your data, and perhaps wake up a guru...

Just try the package pfs3ks13.lha on aminet (PFS3 for Kickstart 1.3)
rename the pfs3_ks13-handler file into L:PFS3 and you can mount pfs3 volumes on... WB1.3 and ANAIIS!

Oh oh Oh, *many* thanks Toni Wilen !!! 2012 will be very good for us!

(it mounts, yes, but the unmount wakes up the guru #3, it's my fault...)

ANAIIS and A604

If you got a A600 and a A604 and a subway, proceed as follow:
Uncompress anaiis.lha in a directory.
Launch Anaiis program, select the "Preferences" panel, select "System" subpanel, select "Subway" with the pseudo cycle button (click to go forward, Shift + click to go backward) then input 0x00d90001 in the "Param1" field.
Close Anaiis program (the preferences are stored in s
Then you can launch usbstart.
Launch Anaiis, "Hardware" menu, you should see the subway. "Statistics menu", you should see the subway and some hub activity.
enjoy !

I haven't been following this project very closely, so I don't know much about it. What are the advantages, or reasons for using Anaiis instead of Poseidon? Is it only the fact that Anaiis will run on Workbench1.3 and Poseidon won't (not sure that is even true)? Can anyone give me a short summary of the Pro's and Con's of each USB stack?

Edit: I own an A600 w/ACA630 & A604 that I might consider installing a Kickstart switch into to run 1.3 & 3.1 for certain game compatibility, but from what many people have written, this is not really needed if a degrader program and a remapped KickROM is used and/or WHDLoad (which I have purchased).

Poseidon is surely more advanced and supports a greater variety of USB classes.

Anaais is just awesome since it can runs ALSO in a plain 68k Amiga (Poseidon needs at least an 020 iirc to run).
Also as you said, Anaais runs on Workbench 1.3 as well.

I'm a huge Poseidon fan, but Anaais is a really awesome alternative that evolves nicely and runs easily in unexpanded Amigas.

You can degrade without the need of switch but then you don't have nice compatibility in certain demos/games that don't like the 030.
In my A600 with ACA630 I have a dual Kickstart (1MB ROM with 1x3.1 ROM and 1x1.3 ROM). With a dual 3way switch I disable ACA and change to Kickstart 1.3 while switching back you get Kickstart 3.1 and ACA enabled.
It's an easy mod that you can check on my blog here: http://mfilos.blogspot.com/p/dual-kickstart-switch.html

The main reasons ?
- Poseidon don't work on plain 68000 amiga, and even on Kickstart < 36.
- Anaiis is 90% Sirion compatible.
- Anaiis gots a lot of bugs (but I fix them, thanks to brave testers for their patience)
- Anaiis is not compatible with games, only intuition or lowlevel.library programs can be used.
In one word: Anaiis is (my) fun
