Cyberstorm MKII 060 ??
I just saw a killer A4000 on Ebay and am considering making some serious bids for it. but im just wondering what kind of issues i will have when trying to play games with the Cyberstorm MKII 060 that comes with it?..
It says on the ebay add that it already has WHDLoad installed upon it, as well as JST and a whole heap of games on its other partition, but im still curious as to whether or not this will affect it?. The machine is installed with OS3.9 So what do you all think?. ok with compatibility? Last edited by blade002; 09 May 2006 at 11:30. |

What does such a thing cost nowadays... I also have a Cyberstorm MKII 060 that I might sell... since my A4000 mobo gives shitty sound.
Or does anyone know a good repair shop that could fix my mobo? |

@jrom
Amiga Repair Center in France might be able to fix it. I know they have parts since they have one of my old motherboards, after he fixed another one of mine Otherwise you can buy a new used one on eBay, Amibench, maybe even here. |

I must say that it's the most rock solid turbocard I've ever used on an Amiga.
Try and get one with the Cyberscsi module so you can gain some more speed and give your 68060 an easier life. |

Amiga 4000 Audio Repair
jrom: I just purchased a 4000 off ebay in January only to discover that it had audio issues. After a bit of investigation I found out it was caused by some capacitors that leaked on the motherboard. I read another post on EAB and found a link to this site:
http://amiga.serveftp.net/audio_repair.html Since I don't have the tools or skills to do the repairs myself, I contacted the gentleman who runs the site and shipped my 4000 to him for repair last week. He's also going to socket my Super Buster so that I can upgrade it to version 11 if need be, and I think everything will be around $150 including shipping from the U.S. to New Zealand and back. I should note that I went a bit crazy with the packing of the mobo ($45 to get there). You might send him an email for a quote (see the bottom of the site linked above). I expect the mobo back in another 4 or 5 weeks, and I'll gladly give you a report if you like. edit: of course you're a lot closer to France than to NZ, so it's probably worth checking out the other place first. |

If I can manage to sort out my Amiga 4000s, I'm pretty sure there is a working spare motherboard inbetween. |

@DoctorQ: that would be interesting indeed... it's a shame to have a 060 without putting it to good use.
@bertambala: that would be interesting to know how that turns out. |

Dont gloat, im not a very happy man right now.. in really not.
Between working 10 hours and day and studying part time, this Amiga would have been ideal for me, because i dont have a great deal of time to go chasing parts up and getting it all going on my 1200. my A500 is half dead, and my HD in the 1200 is dead.. i havent been on the Amiga scene for 6 years and this would have been ideal. Its the last i mention anything like this again.. |
