Filesystem tutorial?

Are there any tutorials on how to write filesystems?

I'm thinking of something that can mount a harddisk partition and pop up a new IFS: or something device that can have files read/written from/to.

A good source code example as simple as possible would be preferable.

I know. Not my idea of a tutorial though.

I have found MSH 1.58 which might possibly be good for something. Though it seems to supply its own messydisk.device?

MSH is like CrossDOS but I believe Fat95 supersedes both as it is light weight and works on WB1.3

If it is the same Fat95 then it was like 75K of badly styled asm code, looking like a Resource project reassembled.

If I _ever_ get around to writing IFS (Idiot Filing System) I'll make sure to try and make it useable for others.

Not tutorials as such, but there are various handlers with source code on Aminet. Perhaps some of those could be helpful? In particular...
