Much - probably not, given decent margin for makers and of course to cover problems with getting eol FPGAs from reliable sources. But it isn't just Agnus we're talking about. It's basically (improved) minimegi chip. So since it does offer more than just 8375 (or 8372AB) it could cost more as well. But I guess it will be reasonably priced. As long as it doesn't introduce any incompatibilities all other features (more chipram, more dma slots for faster CPUs) are just peachy.

Do... do people in the USA think we're all just loafing around in the rest of the world where 40+ hours per week is also quite normal?
My experience of European Socialist Democracies are that they provide a safety net and ensure that you get paid fair renumeration, ideally without being scalped by exploitative businesses. People still work their asses off there. |

I know my family and I didn't travel when I was growing up, and I didn't leave the USA until maybe 10 years ago or so... But I was a bit surprised to find out how common that is... I thought my family were an anomaly because we had no money. But even many families who can afford it don't travel, or just to a few states in the US. However, even with that, we don't all think so poorly of anything outside the US. ;-) (But there are those who do, and they are very vocal on the interwebs and some news channels.. ;-) |

What are the chances of this ever working with the Amiga 1000? I assume this would still need a Gary to communicate with?

https://github.com/nonarkitten/amiga...cement_project
Git was updated 6 months ago. I hope the project achieves its goals, but I'm not very hopeful. In this project, what annoys me is that multiple projects were announced, including a ARM-based accelerator fitting to 64 pin DIP socket, and none of them have materialized. When this project started, there were several similar ones that were canceled because these projects would have competed with them. |

What I've learned in 7 years of developing Amiga hardware for sale - you simply don't cancel a project just because potential competition comes along.

Maybe the chip shortage increased prices? Originally the ARM accelerator was supposed to be built on the same chip as the BeagleBone Black but nobody had them in stock after the chip shortage started because of people doing substitutions.

This looked like a very close to completion project. Wonder what the hicup with the re-agnus is?

Life? Price? The cost of 2mb 8375 agnus chips has dropped a little (£50). I think more people are building ReAmiga 1200s, 4000s, 3000++ and don't need Agnus chips?

Isn't there a developer still active on the Github repo? Maybe someone could ask them.

All patents regarding Amiga chips are now expired. Recreations of Amiga chips are now completely legal. I would imagine that only the name(s) might be copyright/trademarked. No-one is going to try to enforce it. Plus put a spin on the spelling and there's nothing anyone can do. Am1g@ Re-Angus anyone?
