thomas: last time I checked minimig can decrypt Amiga Forever ROMs.

EDIT: I'm not sure how the original minimig handles the mangled MOVEQ instruction, I'll have to check. But the TG68k softcore-based minimigs account for that in the CPU core.

Needing a ROM for Maprom/Blizkick/etc usage is another reason.

Unlike whitebird's standalone decryption program, WinUAE was not developed specifically to decrypt the Amiga ROMs. The code to do so was included by agreement with Cloanto.

I doubt that agreement was intended to open the way for other decryption tools to be freely distributed. However, what people do in private is not our concern.

The irony here is that whitebird did not actually need to write a standalone decryption program to dump the Logica Dialoga Diagnostic ROM. He could have achieved that using WinUAE's debugger:

hi all I'm having issues grabbing the Rom file from the Amiga Forever CD I have the 2016 edition
I'm trying to grab the below Rom to upload via FTP

KS ROM v3.1 (A500,A600,A2000) rev 40.63 (512k)

when i follow the below directions

EXTERNAL LINK
(I am using Win7 and downloaded gfsw.exe)

and use this program via windows to grab the Rom it does not show the correct Rom due to the encryption

Size: 524,299
CRC-32: E4D58065
MD-5: c3e114cd3b513dc0377a4f5d149e2dd9
-------------------- FILE SIGNATURE COMPLETE --------------------

another poster listed the below

Do I get this right:

For owners of the AmigaForever CDs

Simply setup a A600 System in the Emulator.
Than use a Romgrabber inside the emulated Amiga and rename the rom-file as wished and upload to ftp

Yes?

but I'm having trouble getting kick2f or any other ROM Grabber to work.

I need some guidance I've been all through the forums but all the instructions are quiet vauge.
I have read that you need to load winuae then run one of the these grabbers but i cant get it to work and searching google so far I have not come up with the answer.

I'm not understanding how to get these programs into the winuae emulator to grab the Rom.

I need to do it this way because my A600 is currently not working

any help would be appreciated

in winuae configuration -> CD & Hard Drive -> Add Directory
here you choose a folder on your windows system.
Device name something like DH5
Volume Label: WinShare for example.
once started the emulation you should have access to this folder from the amiga side,
by choosing DH5: on the amiga side.

the shared folder works in both ways.

Mate

thanks for your help but I'm still having issues
apologies in advance cause I have no idea I've never done this kind of thing before in Amiga forever.

I am doing as you suggested creating a HD directory and I am unzipping the grabber files and adding them to this directory but I have no idea how to actually run it in WINUAE.

I could see the icon for grabkick and grabkick ram when i double click the grab kick icon i can see all the files that make up the program plus i can see the actual kickstart image which i already added to the file.

from here I have no idea what to do

cheers

thanks in advance
