WE all ready have a mod to slim down the c64 breadbin called the C64 Compact Mod,all they have done is copy other peoples work.
You have to have adapter to put in real c64 cartridges..weird. What they mean by its been worked on my the person that made the C64DTV is Darren Melbourne ... he was part of Ironstone I think. About the team behind THE 64 ™ Darren Melbourne – Has been in the games industry for over thirty years. During his career in the games industry Darren has created games for almost every major platform of note since the early 1980’s but has always retained a passion for eight bit gaming, especially for the Commodore ™ range of machines. Darren was also one of the key people behind the C64DTV ™ console, striving to constantly breathe new life into the classic Commodore 64 ™. Darren is leading an experienced and passionate team to bring this project to completion, continuing the legacy of the greatest home computer all of time! Andreas Wallström - got his Commodore 64™ in 1984 and he's been a true fan since then. He drew his first logotype and font when he was 14 years old, and throughout the years, he's been a part of the demo scene as an artist in the demo group Flash Inc. He has played in the retro bands SID'80s and 6581, and he's been the webmaster of C64.COM since 2003. And now he has joined THE 64 ™ team as Publishing Director |

Failed to meet the $150.000 goal, but this was set as a flexible goal so they will get to keep the $100.611 actually raised.
I'm quite doubtful about this project (as I tend to be with many of these type of kickstarters, especially since the Chameleon debacle), but I really hope that they will follow through and deliver something cool to their 373 backers awaiting some type of hardware. |

I could not understand why they kept saying that would release more information regarding hardware etc in a week or so, but that was AFTER their crowdfunding period ended?
To get more people investing, tell them details DURING the crowdfunding period. For that reason I did not invest. |

I guess so, it sounds like they are looking into other ways to sell at the moment (reading some comments on Indiegogo). I would wait though until they actually presented something viable.

435 fools backed yet another questionable nostalgia-driven project, wasting 100,611 USD in the process. Congratulations.
I wish people would give up 100K USD in the development of AROS or anything actually USEFUL. Also in contrast, see the new Amiga case project not reaching its goal. Life is unfair. |

Is it possible that 435 people pushed >$100,000 towards the The64 because they found it to be more worthy of their cash than AROS?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-raspberry-pi/ I know, if emulation is not your cup of tea, then this might just be yet another whateveritis, but still, AEROS on Pi/ODROID seems nice to me, so I backed it. |

I'm just saying that it's sad to see barely innovative/useful products getting backed because of people being nostalgic in lieu of things that actually e xtend the life of old computers like the Amiga, real useful products that bring the units well into teh 21st century.
It's just sad. |

In any case it's an interesting option that I might try at some point myself. Wouldn't mind turning an A600 into a retrogaming rig. And more importantly, already available. These people should have just made the case and be done with it. A decent case + keyboard for this kinda setup would be a good development. |

I do but am not sure I want to part with them yet. I have three, one is my main one that I will always have, and then I have my two DJing ones, which have been in the cupboard for months. Unsure if I should get rid of them, I am not really playing much.
