You are correct. And 1.1 may be obsolete, but your reasoning "AmiSSL.library (v1.1) in LIBS with the use of AmiSSL 4 is not required" is incorrect and I merely tried to answer the question "What is a proper AmiSSL installation?" and pointed you to some entries in the documentation that tries to explain this.

Nothing to do with your news item though, so I will leave you to it and not reply anymore in this thread.

I just did the following
renamed amiSSL.library to AAAamiSSL.library
Fired up AWeb APL and tried to sign into Google
I got the no AmiSSL or MiamiSSL installation warning.
renamed amiSSL.library to it's original name and tried again.
No SSL warning, it fails on something else after this, but it does seem to illustrate (as I reported earlier with Snoopdos) that it needs amiSSL.library to be installed somewhere.
I'm happy to hold my hand up if I've made a mistake, but it would just be nice to nail this down so that people know how to proceed.
Peace and Love
And Kiwis, England may have won, but you were not beaten. :-)

Nice! Is there a compiled binary of WGET for 68k 3.x available that uses the latest AmiSSL?

I have some SSL problems with this wget version: https://sourceforge.net/projects/amiga/files/wget/
which is the only one working fine without issues under WinUAE with bsdsocket emu ( = when not using MiamiDX + uaenet emu) because doesn't use ixemul as we discussed with Toni here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=99065…
Seems compiled for openssl

I did not understand correctly that problems with WGet, it works well to me, can you provide a link where you can not download the file?

The link posted by you does not lead to WGet

Video test with my version of WGet:

Non ho capito bene che problemi incontri con WGet, a me funziona bene, puoi fornirmi un link dove non riesci a scaricare il file?

Il link postato da te non porta a WGet

WallGet != wget and uses an old custom build of wget as worker slave…
You can download Wget 1.12 alone from the link above, enter 1.12 dir and you'll have the download link.
WallGet will often crash under AmigaOS 3.9 after download. As I said if you use uaenet emu with MiamiDX it won't crash.
New wget (1.12) works fine also in bsdsocket emu (does not rely on ixemul library) but has some problems with AmiSSL with some https sites…

e.g.
Code:
wget https://master.dl.sourceforge.net/project/amiga/wget/1.12/wget-1.12r2.lha
--2019-10-08 18:44:45-- https://master.dl.sourceforge.net/project/amiga/wget/1.12/wget-1.12r2.lha

Resolving master.dl.sourceforge.net... 216.105.38.12
Connecting to master.dl.sourceforge.net|216.105.38.12|:443... connected.
OpenSSL: error:1407742E:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version
Unable to establish SSL connection.

Nevermind. It could be just a problem of too old wget client (1.12):

I managed to download it with a trick both with bsdsocket.library and with uaenet.device + Miami, tested positively both WGet and Walget.

To download I deleted the S from https, look at secreenshot.

However I was already using WGet 1.12 I have one with a more recent date and larger file

Awesome to see 4.4 released!

I see there are two releases, AmigaOS3/68k and AmigaOS4/PPC. Would it be really hard to create a build that runs on OS3+WarpOS / powerpc.library? That way the PPC would provide a big speedup on the OS3 side of things...

I looked through the Makefile and it looks like you need gcc4 to compile it. I can get a cross compiler setup but really have no idea on the extra work involved...

GCC 4.0.4 is used for OS4, simply because this is the newest with working baserel support. That is the main requirement/limitation - the compiler must support base relative data. For OS3, the pointer to the data is in the library base - every process that opens AmiSSL gets a unique library base with a copy of the data section. I'm not sure if the WarpOS GCC supports baserel data?

Super, great work ! And a new iBrowse version too . Gonna try it out straight away.
Does the 060 optimized version need an FPU? Eg, does it work on an 68LC060?
