I noticed you've gone for the small screen in Wolfenstein.

I've just tested using my Xbox 360 wireless controllers and here's the situation:

Blackthorne:
You have set "Red" as "Space", "Blue" as "E" and "Yellow" as "Enter".
You haven't assigned any button to "Run" i.e. "D".

Prince of Persia:
You have set "Red" as "Mousing", and "Blue" as "Fire Button".
As a side note; my left / right shoulder buttons also work as "Fire Button".

Prince of Persia 2:
You have set "Red" as "Mousing", and "Blue" as "Fire Button".
JoyMouse seems a pain as when I move the mouse cursor follows; you probably don't need this, just the "Left Mouse Button".
The equivalent Blue button doesn't work on my Xbox 360 wireless controllers for some reason.
You would need to assign a "2nd Fire Button" for "Moving Slow".

Yeah, Wolf still needs centering solved when ShapeShifter is in low res.

Yeah joymouse is painful, but can the pop's be started without it? If yes then it'd be better without it for sure.

I'll look at the button stuff, thanks.

@Seiya, I'll attach a winuae config, it should run after modifying paths

Unfortunately I couldn't find a way...

Just as an FYI; I ended making the following button changes for "Blackthorne" / "Prince of Persia" / "Prince of Persia 2" in my colllection.

See this post

I'm obviously not using JoyMouse as it's not necessary.

For CD32 joypad-only usage I hope to make a little script that lets you turn joymouse off/on e.g. by long pressing "play" as Retro1234 suggested. If Amiga Shell will be on my side, that is.
That would enable the menu bar in Mac OS to save/load etc in addition to start new game. And if it's in the way it can be turned off.

Sounds like a good plan for people using real CD32 with TF330 expansions

Updated the compilation image,
here.

There's now a script running on Amiga side that watches the PLAY button for long press (~2 secs) and toggles joymouse off/on (turns it OFF first, then ON, etc.). This took a while to work out but it turned out readjoy + wait combo doesn't tax the system.

- adapted DamienD's joypad settings, thanks!
- returned to low-res with Wolf3D since now you can center the screen with the mouse, then turn joymouse off.

(hmm POP2 would be nice to play a bit more, shame it's so hit-and-miss with ShapeShifter)

Do you think that could help with stability?
It runs pretty good already in high res full screen.

I just thought maybe a speed increase might help because Damien said it worked ok with no problems on 68040 ???

Tried with 040 in uae. Seems the same.. crashed 1st time, then stuttered 2nd time in the beginning but made it to the screen below. There you board the ship and the game just refuses to continue

upload pictures

..and then some more weirdness, I clicked "compress data" from the menu bar, clicked canced and whoop the game went forward, but with a bad constant beep going on.

Nice work indeed; your image is getting much better

Quite complex to set up so well done

Cool no problem

I found setting a 68040 config in WinUAE seemed to help with the game crashing / freezing on startup and the intro usually plays most of the way through.

Gameplay wise there's no speed difference between using a 68030 or 68040 CPU.

The game is buggy as hell on ShapeShifter though; let's see:
  • Randomly freezes when starting the game before the intro starts.
  • Music glitches out / doesn't happen in the intro.
  • Intro will sometimes crash / freeze at random stages.
  • When playing and you die there is not "Press any key to continue" (or whatever the message should be).
  • The cutscene after finishing stage 1 never plays; will probably be the same for others but haven't got that far as yet.

Yeah, takes a while (10 seconds maybe) to get past this screen for some reason.

I usually just press the <Fire Button> and the <Space Bar>, it will eventually move onwards.

No idea why; same thing happens with a 68030 CPU though.

Hi wairnair,

I just tested your latest compilation using my Xbox 360 wireless controllers.

I've attached the "KeyMap.iff" from MacJoy for reference:

Ok, here are some notes:

Blackthorne:
... You've set the following:

... "Yellow" and "Play" have both been set the same "68" i.e. "Return". You don't actually need "Return" at all from what I've experienced from playing. Guess you could leave it assigned to the "Play" button though just in case.
... You haven't assigned a button for "Run". This is usually "D" on the keyboard so a keycode "18".

Prince of Persia:
... You've set the following:

... The above are the NumLock keys for movement; any reason why you don't add the standard curser keys?

Prince of Persia 2:
... You've set the following:

... The above are the NumLock keys for movement; any reason why you don't add the standard cursor keys?
... There are no buttons assigned for sword or move slowly.

Oh this must be because I thought it was enough to replace the file with Mega.. Seems like you have the prev version and I need to re-share.

Here it is, sorry:
https://mega.nz/#!9hR12K6R!GMHNLf7u8...-lZC76ue7PVKDo

As for the non-cursor keys: it was because I wanted to avoid the cursor keys because they doubled as navigation in Finder inside the OS. That was when I manually started the game using joymouse.

I hopefully didn't mess up the joypad config. Thanks for putting in the effort to test.

edit: bit more POP2.. in this thread https://www.emaculation.com/forum/vi...=8940&start=25 they come to the conlusion to use 040+Quadra ROM. With "1994-07 - 06684214 - LC,Quadra,Performa 630.ROM" ROM + 040 POP2 runs almost perfect under Basilisk II. That is not the case with ShapeShifter unfortunately.

Tested your new upload.

Again great work with toggling "JoyMouse" off / on via holding the "Play" button for 2 seconds; really incredible stuff indeed

So far I've only tested Blackthorne, Prince of Persia and Prince of Persia 2, but the movement / button configurations are now perfect

...well, besides the new / additional Blackthorne amendments that I detailed; but I'm sure you're going to add those shortly.

I've been trying different setups and Roms with POP 2 is there meant to be a game over sign ?

But anyway I managed to test ShapeShifter NTSC and there probably is a small speed increase but might be my imagination.

I've now tested Alone in the Dark; it runs quite well

...thought I'd hack around a bit; using some files from your .VHD, I managed to create a standalone .HDF that runs in "640x400" and using a 68040 CPU. This also runs pretty well
