Bars & Pipes Internal Sounds?

I am trying to run Bars & Pipes Professional (1.0) with internal sounds. I have not been able to figure out how to do that. I only see midi out.

I run a A500 with 1mb memory so I do not think I can use any other Bars & Pipes version than 1.0.

I got two floppies "Internal Sounds" 1 and 2 but I do not know if they work with 1.0.

Any wisdom to share?

I got it working! However, I get "Warning Low Memory!" popup alerts frequently.

What can I do to cram out all the memory I can get of my machine?

B&P load from WB, would it then matter if I removed stuff from the workbench disk?

Can you reduce the colors or something like that to free up more ram?

I know I can turn off my external drive and free up some more ram. But is there a different ram load with kick 1.3 or kick 2.0.

it is all about your 1MB memory, B&P program itself is about 450kb itself, so it needs almost halve of your memory.
but you can start b&p from the cli.
once your workbench is started, open a shell/cli window,
put the B&P disk in external floppy drive and type into the shell/cli:
install df1:
this will make it bootable. when finished, put B&P floppy image into df0: and reboot.
after a short moment you will get a cli/shell prompt. type in:
"Bars&Pipes Professional"
type with quotes, since filename has a space inbetween.
this should start B&P. within B&P you can choose menu -> Windows -> Information to check if you now got some more free memory.

btw: to give your machine a good boost, keep following the Vampire 500 development

Thanks a lot, I will try that asap.

I was actually able to load and play sounds with 2.0 also, but it kept complaining about memory even more. But the interface was in black&white, maybe the reason is to free up memory (!?).

The low memory alert troubles me, since my purpose is to glitch the system, overload and see what I come up with. I figure that with all the pipe-tools you could do a lot of nice stuff. But the low memory alert will stop playback as soon as it starts to fall apart... maybe there is a way to bypass the alert message, and just keep the engine running?

to free some more memory, try this:
menu -> Preferences -> Memory Savers (enable all - here is the greyscreen option)
menu -> Windows -> Accessories (remove all you do not need at the moment)
menu -> Windows -> Toolbox (remove all you do not need at the moment)

when using internal amiga sounds, just start with maybe 4 instruments only, or less.
this should gives some more room for experiments.
