New Icons are set by default in CWB, otherwise you wouldn't see any Game Icons (only tiny rectangles) in the KG/Retroplay pack. To enable/disable in CWB: mouse right click on desktop -> Workbench ->Settings -> New Icons.

Well I just added run c:newicons startup-sequence.

Workbench->settings can't seem to find them with Scalos active. It's not there

Sorry but I have to get used to this after nearly 2 decades.. so please be patient with me

Ups, true. I use CWB Lite. No clue, but i assume New Icons are already enabled in the other CWBs by default too.

If I started newicons the games started to run
If i left it unstarted Tl just went black and exited after a short time

So it wasn't started (unless I have choosen it not to when I first initialised it )

Could be. In CWB Lite was an install requester about Old Icons and New Icons.

Been experimenting with launching demos.

From the first page there are a few that either hang or quit to a grey screen on my setup (3Ddemo2, 9Fingers, Bacteria an also StateOfTheArt as mentined earlier). However these demos also have issues when loaded by clicking on the icon from WB so it's not TL's fault! For example, from an icon double click launch, StateOfTheArt F10 quits to an Exception "Access Fault" error. SO I guess this type of error causes TL to hang on a grey screen.

That's impossible, it would slowdown the interface, and that's not what I'm looking for (think about an Amiga 500).

But... "Pictures + text information" are coming on user request, you will have to hit a key or press the 2nd fire button and it will show a beautiful 32 colors pic

So what about mods structure.. Is it only 1 level scan ?

I can get mods if its in 1st level directory but 2nd level and down then it just say clearing and after a few seconds return to main menu and then it goes back into mods and clear and again goes back.

This is a continuing process which don't stop so I have to reset to get rid of it

But I admit I had to cheat, and if you discover how I did you will probably beat me
Anyway, nothing is going to arm your HDD.

2642 scanned games
It seems the KG Compilation contain 2711 Slaves
Should miss the directories that sometimes contains 2 slaves (only one is kept).

I reckon it would be better to keep all the slaves in those cases where more than one exist per folder.

For example, for the game JetstrikeAGA, one slave is for the intro only, while the other is the game without the intro. So if TL includes only the intro in the scan, the game will not be launchable.

An AmigaDos script is fine and in fact that's what I used to launch Jetstrike with previously from TL. But I think if the goal of this version if TL is to make it out-of-the-box compatible with the KG WHDload packs, then listing both slaves is a more complete solution.

@gibs: one new good thing in your latest beta is it FastNav finnaly work under my WinUAE. Great! But there are problems with launching any game or demo. My *>info files are ok. Previous old stable version works fine. So maybe I did not read whole new post carefully, beacuse I do not always have time to do this after long work shifts. Anyway, I do not know why now under WinUAE and launched TinyLauncher from HDF with two disks with games and demos mounted as directory I can not run any game. No matter WHDLoad or with *.tl script file. Did I must do something new? I made rescan. Like you remember I have all games and demos in !AGA and ECS subdirectories. Here is the movie which was made with FRAPS and show you what happend. I got Key in L, I got WHDLoad as latest version in C and WHDLoad_16_8 in C for launching older slaves like Harlay Davidson. Very old version (1.8.8) when I last used your launcher in stable version works fine. Is it new > 2.x are only designed for KGWHD packs directory structure? Here is my S:Startup-Sequence:

And FRAPS move made in hurry (so forgive me lags and low quality - I am not letsplayer and video recording exper): http://olesio.eu/winuae_tl.avi And I did not made rests under my realm Amiga 1200 yet until under WinUAE everything will be fine. But I must launch my Amiga after long break anyway. And under http://olesio.eu/4_tiny_launcher.hdf there is my HDF created with WinUAE. All files copied by my "WB_HDF_CREATOR" script from DH1 mounted as directory. Only L subdirectory with keyfile was deleted. Anyway, good news is FastNav finally working. In very early version nothing happend after pressing up arrow on first position at list. Keep fixing please and if everything will be fine even under my PC and Amiga, maybe Shoonay "grumpy" who did not want to use your launcher will use it because you support KGWHD structure now which he use it on their Amiga.

No need to Assign anymore.

Why don't you create 2 directories named differently with each slave inside ?
IMHO it's a better solution than listing the same name twice without idea of the one you're going to execute
