Star Fleet II? Did they even make this for the Amiga? I can't imagine them porting it, because it was terribly buggy...

You are correct, APF. Starfleet II was never released on the Amiga.

SF2 on the Amiga

I played it on the Amiga and NEVER had an error. Well, except when I used a hex editing program to change the shield levels. I did find an ADF file for it, but it doesn't save each level. I can email it to you if you want proof.

You're sadly mistaken. Where do you get 2 from? The boot text info states plainly StarFleet 1. The disk icon from Workbench is clearly labeled StarFleet 1. The icon that launches the game is called SF1. And the game's title screen says STARFLEET I. No idea how any confusion could come from this disk. It's not even a fake!

Here's the info

Official info for Star Fleet II. Only released on the PC (And available at www.theunderdogs.org )

Here is the writeup from CGW

STAR FLEET II
(I) Interstel; Trevor Sorenson and Mark Baldwin; 1989; *
Int/Tac
1

This product was the stereotypical sequel -- i.e., awful. As part of an on-going planned series, the product was sufficiently undeveloped as to destroy the parent company. Released with major lock-up bugs and inability to access certain elements of the program, Interstel promised to make it good. They sent out revised disks, and never did get it to run correctly. A game with all the aspects of "Built by Committee", yet it was so deeply textured that some designers were pulling segments from it years later to produce new games (cf. STAR LEGIONS).

Thats it.

Can I say anything that won't lead to any further embarrassment? I'm on medication, I've been in a few car accidents recently, I'm over the hill, I inhaled in high school, It was a typo- several times, I'm married- with four children, It was real late at night....

Did I mention the "T" in Starfleet has a red border on the second screen and looks like a roman numural II?

Is it too late to beg for forgiveness or shall I don my flak vest and wait for the well deserved abuse?

Hehe...it's true. On the title screen, that T does make the 'I' look like a roman numeral II. Hey, n/p. Shit happens.

Question What type of game is Starfleet 2?

What type of game is Starfleet? Sounds like a boring strategic simulation. I remember a very ancient C64 game with a similar name.

Sounds like the one and the same, Tim. The first Starfleet is an old, ugly strat game which had a popular, if not "cult", following. As for the second one, read above.

It is fun and challenging to play with. I'm not the only one that made this mistake with I/II, check out this website for example:
