Thanks for your effort! I tested this latest version, using A1200 with 2 MB Chip on MiSTer and I am getting a software failure 80000004 00000FE0 after (during?) the HAM Screen (no copper bars).

I take it the Mister has no sort of memory dumping facility like WinUAE?
No sort of internal debugging? |

The Gamebase 2.0 version cracked by Renegade loads fine on MiSTer, but it has all the problems due to being the older version (P1.00, D1.00? I forgot the exact numbers) of the game (gfx glitches on AGA etc.).

I can bring up HRTMon v2.37 on MiSTer with F11, but I am not experienced how to use it:
EDIT: The second image is what I get when I open hrtmon during the software failure message on the release (not test version). The track information on the bottom doesn't seem to work, it always says track 0 even during loading. Last edited by rsn8887; 25 June 2023 at 18:29. |

I invoked hrtmon on my MiSter while the red software failure message was blinking on the release version, and made a memory dump of $00000000 to $001FFFFF:
https://files.coolatoms.org/u2dump.bin Maybe this helps? |

I made another dump when the LED started blinking, but before the red software failure message was blinking:

Using HRTMon with A1200 config on WinUAE, I managed to make a freeze state of the P1.04 D1.03 version just after the copper bars appear. I used the sa command. If I load that freeze state with HRTMon on MiSTer, usind the la command, the game works somewhat.
Some sound fx and music instruments sound faulty, but that also happens on the P1.00 D1.00 adf version on A1200 on MiSTer (but not on A500). Maybe that is due to the too fast 68020 CPU on MiSTer? If I load the game with the savestate method on MiSTer, the game says CPU: 68000. The P1.00-D1.00 adf version, booted normally on MiSTer, says CPU: 68020. So something is wrong there. Link to Savestate: https://files.coolatoms.org/uridium2 Link to HDF with Savestate on it (to allow loading with hrtmon command "la dh0:uridium2" on MiSTer): https://files.coolatoms.org/Uridium_2_SaveState.hdf The best A1200 version to play on MiSTer at the moment seems to be the WHDLoad version of P1.00 D1.00. It fixes the corruption in the radar screen and fixes the faulty samples. It would be awesome to have P1.04 D1.03 working as well, since it has many improvements. Let’s forget about MiSTer for a second: There might be something wrong with the newest Scoopex release „Uridium 2 vP1.04-D1.03 (1993)(Renegade)(OCS-AGA)(Disk 1 of 2)(Program Disk)[cr SCX].adf“
Tested on WinUAE emulator (not MiSTer). If I boot the SPS release #276, Mayhem mode is available and other AGA enhancements are available as well (bullet shell particle effects in bonus sequence etc). This is the correct behavior on A1200. If I boot the Scoopex release, Mayhem mode and AGA enhancements are not available. Tested using exactly the same A1200 config. Mayhem mode availability can quickly be checked by pressing F1 in the title screen and looking for the last menu entry „mode: normal/mayhem“. It should be there and be changeable with F6. So somehow, the Scoopex release does not show the mayhem mode option. It does not behave like the SPS release, even though both are P1.04 D1.03 and are running on the same A1200 config. It seems the Scoopex release is not detecting the 68020 CPU correctly. Last edited by rsn8887; 27 June 2023 at 06:59. |

Mayhem mode is activated with F6 I was told.
This was extensively tested before release. |

Maybe testers thought they were playing Mayhem mode but in reality it was only normal mode?
It would be good to also check the other tests, not just look for Mayhem mode option in F1 menu: - You can just wait a long time on the title screen. Eventually it will read CPU:68000 instead of the expected CPU:68020. - Alternatively, play until the bonus sequence and notice bullet shell particle effects when shooting are missing (there should be little pixels flying up out of your gun when you shoot on A1200). Can someone test this again with SCX release on a real A1200? I sure can’t get it to work on WinUAE. I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. The SPS .ipf release 276 works correctly for me, using the exact same emulator config. BTW: Concerning Mayhem mode: The first attached image "correct" shows how the menu should look like after you press F1 on A1200. F6 is used to change Mode: Normal to Mode: Mayhem. The second attached image, "incorrect", shows how it shouldn't look like. The Mode option is completely missing. That's what I see using the SCX release in WinUAE. I also attached the images how it should and shouldn't look like when you wait a long time at the title screen. CPU: should read 68020 not 68000. I used to have this game as original back in the day, and played it a ton. I think I know the game pretty well. Last edited by rsn8887; 27 June 2023 at 16:24. |

funny other tries, using the original ipf's and WinUAE (and not connected to the rsn8887 request)
Mayhem mode, i thought it was triggered using an AGA setting only but it seems not !? i am playing that mode atm just using a kickstart3.x combined with a 68000 non AGA setting leaving the attract mode running it does indeed display cpu 68000, but the Mayhem mode can be enabled/disabled without problems just ks3.x seems the triggering factor |

Very interesting, @kremiso, I didn't know that!
Here is the example picture of the bullet shell particle effect that should appear on A1200. Little yellow pixels should fly out of your gun when you shoot in the bonus sequence. I circled them red to make it easier to see. On the SCX release, this effect is missing in my tests. BTW: This is one of those fast-paced games where any input lag completely destroys the fun. OK, so playtesting that was done before wasn't enough, otherwise this would have been spotted earlier...sigh!
In the zone new disk 1, this should fix the Mayhem problems, maybe even fix it for Mister owners as well, as soon as RSN8887 said it wasn't getting the correct CPU type, then I knew straight away where the problem lay I haven't changed the name of the file, but I have put "v1.1" text in the bootblock, and obviously the checksum hash of this disk identifies it from the first version. Please playtest, i'm sure this one works as it should, a schoolboy error by me. |

Thank you for the new version!
It works correctly in WinUAE now! This didn't fix the crash on MiSTer FPGA after the HAM screen. It still happens on all configs on MiSTer (A500 OCS, A600 ECS and A1200 AGA configs). Last edited by rsn8887; 27 June 2023 at 21:38. |

Well now that I know HRTMon is available with Mister, we should be able to diagnose this, but at least the disk version is fixed now for everything else.

i don't understood the problem with aga version. i made a video of one game played few minutes ago.
It run on WinUAE and from Gamebase (not gamebase Amiga 2.x) and i think is ok. I never like this type of game and so i play ocassionally to Uridium saga. [ Show youtube player ] |

after some quick different configuration tries, yes its doing exactly as the ipf now im almost sure this game has almost nothing to do with AGA but just kickstart 3.x (for the mayhem mode) and a 68000-68020 CPU detection (and not chipset) imo it does contain the fixes to correctly work on AGA, stop also the old 0.90 FLT (review copy) version, despite marked as AGA, seems working just setting kickstart 3.x, on a 68000 ocs/ecs hw winUAE tests it would be great to made finally full light on this Last edited by kremiso; 28 June 2023 at 08:49. |
