A4000 sound issue

On my A4000, it seems to me the audio in one channel is lower than the other (yes i checked cables ). Is this a "normal" time-for-replacing-caps issue?

Dammit, and I'm just in the process of getting a refurbished A1200 mobo too! Must be something in the air

Can anyone recommend a good refurbisher (besides Amigakit)? I also need the zip sockets replaced.

I had my 4000D board recapped and Simm sockets replaced by hikey on Amibay.

He made a lovely job of it and it has worked perfectly since

You probably have some defective chip on your mainboard. The same happened to my A4000T (one channel had very low sound and there was some white noise coming froım time to time) and a chip (or something else) was replaced on the Audio- Video module. Everything went back to normal but after 6 months, the same happened again the power supply connecter wielded itself on the mainboard connector.

I was all because of the power supply I was told. Although they show correct voltages, it's a matter of time before something is wrong and then it's too late. Simply buy a new "expensive" ATX psu and convert it.
